Pay by credit card and you'll be covered, I think,

They'll be gone in a few months. This is just to keep the cash flow going in case an investor is found.

Where did you hear that they will be gone in a few months time?

Haha bankrupt, $161000000 profit in 2009 says no!! And 7.4% growth this year!! Unlike BA the Asians know how to run an airline!
#11
The travel period would have long past by the time their website loads!

Went Bangkok to Bali with these and they are very good.

"Only pay taxes and fares"

I'm missing something here aren't I?

( I think it's 'fees', not 'fares')
#18
used these to fly from chiang mai to bangkok last year, got me from A to B very cheaply, who can argue!!
#19
Only pay taxes and fares as oppose to what?
#20
Cor wish this was KL to London as well
#21
I've travelled by Airasia many times. I found it more comfortable than some of the main stream airlines. More leg spacing since the seat is arranged by 2-4-2. If you book the food and entertainment unit online (which is so much cheaper), you'll find the whole experience just as good as others. Besides, to KL is 12+hrs journey, you probably will sleep most of the time ;-)

Cold for me as London to Kuala Lumpur is £281 EACH WAY on all dates I have checked and you can get London to Asia (Bangkok, Hong Kong) etc for £550 return with a standard airline normally.

So many horror stories about this airline; tailstrikes, hard landings, incompetent pilots, terrible customer service etc

Yet another fool to the system.

Airasia have been around forever. I flew with them 4 out of 5 flights around south east asia whilst back packing. You have to pay for drinks, but when the flights are 1hr between most SE Asian countries, who's complaining?

The prices go online on 18th. It's in the title, it's on the website. What part of that was difficult? Though to get to KL and back, we flew Emirates for super cheap.

Is that GMT or Malaysian time?
#26
Any flights to Thailand? Bangkok is a nice place to visit at the moment
#27
i'd love to use AirAsia for a return flight to Australia but in the past it's only been another £100 return to get a decent flight from a airline that feeds you and provides inflight entertainment.

I'll still check this out at midnight but unless it's sub £500 for a return flight to Melbourne I wouldn't consider it.
#28
Used them a few times, they're a decent airline.

Malaysian time.

Malaysian time.

Hmmm thought so  . Was wondering why some are waiting till midnight lol. Malaysia is 7or 8 hours ahead of us.

I have flown AirAsia from STN-KUL and would not recommend them. I fly to the Far East quite a few times a year and AirAsia flights are not really that competitive once you go through all the nonsense of extra payments for baggage, food etc., and then the seat assignment.
I recently got back from KUL going with Singapore Airlines KUL-SIN-LHR taking an A380 on the SIN-LHR sector. Choice of seats, excellent food and service for £550 all-inc. return.
Other good value airlines to the Far East include Qatar, Emirates. Lufthansa and Swiss International (now effectively part of Lufthansa).

Used these to KL when they launched and were doing the £99 return fares from stansted. Excellent ex Air Canada Airbus A340-200. Plenty of leg room and comfortable. You pay extra for portable media player and food but just take your own!

Tony Fernandes, the guy who launched the airline was on board and came round and spoke to everyone and had pictures taken. - He's also launched TUNE hotels so if you need somewhere cheap but nice to stay check them out.

Also used them to hop around from KL to Langkawi, Penang and other islands and couldn't fault them - all shiny new airbus aircraft and beautiful cabin crew. The asian equivalent of Ryanair and are doing just as well from the figures they have released.

Don't book expecting luxury but do expect comfortable, efficient flights on safe new European made aircraft!
#33
I've flown them several times and they are miles better than any european budget airline (and lots of the flag carriers too for that matter). Top airline great find - I'll be using to go to Australia next March.

Kuala Lumpar to Brisbane (Gold Coast) outbound on 19th March 2011 and returning a month later for one adult at £93.36 return INCLUDING TAXES looks rather cheap...

Works out at just over 1p a mile.

Yet the profit aint nothing without da cash baby!

Website too slow..huhu

Airaisia is a pretty decent budget airline, all you pay for is the seat and the tax. if you want the extras then you add it on. lived in KL for 9 years and used them constantly. no chance for them to go bankrupt because its one of the main low cost airlines in asia.

So how does this all work?

I recently returned from Bali 4 passengers on Singapore air costing £1300 total. No messing with baggage, meals etc... that was the all in price. (And ok the £3240 it cost them for our Volcation was an unexpected bonus!)

But I'm really unsure how this works!

So the cheapies are loaded yet until approx 5 am right?

The cost for luggage (baring in mind I'll be going onto eiher Bali or Melbourne after KL).... is this per bag per flight? So 4 bags, it'll cost 4 bags x £12 x4 flights Just under £200? WTF!!!

Plus meals... Plus drinks.... (They are bloody long flights!)

I know my flights with singapore, approx £950 were taxes (so expect this to be the going figure here too), but have a feeling these "free flights" are going to end up more than our Singapore Air flights were.

Or have I missunderstood something?

Certainly, but only if you read what you typed.

Melbourne for under £300? Bargain.
#40
£500 return to KL plus another £90 to Brisbane.. exlcuding food and baggage.. i can fly emirates for £650!

Edit: If someone can find cheaper please show me how because i get £241 to KL no matter what dates i choose.
