I went to Dubai last March. Shortly after the spliff and shoe incident and I must admit I was concerned especially when my mam kept banging on about it. But, being honest you always thinks this sort of thing happens to someone else. Fortunately, on this occasion it did and I am planning on taking advantage of these prices and return in June. An observation, I must say there were an awful lot of british and american co*ks acting like they owned the place. Maybe they did but it did make me feel somewhat nauseous.

Anyway, LFC for the treble. But, I'd settle for the league.

"human rights" in relation to what, not following the law of the land, we expect everyone to follow the law of our land so why not the same when we are in another country.

By the way hot deal, we looooove going to Dubai and it is a fantastic place and if the flights were free we would go tommorow!!!

I've no doubt that Dubai is a very beautiful place, I've seen videos of it and all those little islands. They've really built the place up over the last 10/15 years haven't they. And from a selfish point of view I would really love DIC to take over at Liverpool. From what I hear Sheik Mo is a man of principles and anything has got to be better than the excuse of owners we have now.

I've no problem with respecting other peoples laws etc, even if they are stricter than our own. BUT when you hear of stories for example like the man that got jailed in Dubai because he was found with a few poppy seeds left inside a wrapper from a baguette that he'd bought in a sandwich shop in Heathrow, another English man who got four years for microscopic traces of somebody else's spliff that he'd walked on in the street and had become stuck to the sole of his shoe and of course other western tourists jailed because they were innocently / naively caught with prescription medicines such as cough syrup and cocodamol then it really is archieic and barbaric imo.

I understand these policies originate from religious beliefs but if Dubai really want to intergrate themselves into the Western world then they surely must become more civilised in these aspects. I also think that considering the way things stand in the country at the moment regarding these policies I've highlighted above then our government needs to do more to warn British tourists of such dangers too.
Anyone any thoughts on why Dubai seems to be exempt from Islamic fundamentalist attacks?

I wouldn't touch the place with a sh!tty stick their human rights record is disgraceful. Not even if the flights were free.

Really, I had a great time. Played at some of the best golf courses in the world. My Avatar was a shot I hit to within 3 feet on a par 3 at the Dubai Creek. I holed it by the way.

Netflights seem to be really good at the middle east deals ... we booked one through last month for dubai in December (peak period) for only £295 on Qatar ... which we thought was really good for the time we are visiting ... If you can find something at £259 it would definitely be HOT ...

The best trans Atlantic deal by far was the one posted recently which gave me my BA flights to USA (Boston, NY, Washington, Chicago) in August (ie highest season) for £256 return.

I am looking for flights to new york in august, could you give any advice on getting a price like that...ive yet to find anything under £450...

Thanks alot

realistically not a bad deal, but when you consider only a week ago in the sale Ba flights were going for £225 return it's not that great, i booked to go in march for £240 return with perfect flight times

so you vote cold coz link dont work, then get off ur lazy bottom and go to airline network site and pop in ur details u lazy muppett - god trying to help some people get a gud deal !!!!!!!!!! :whistling::whistling::whistling:

so somebody points out quite reasonably thet the link doesnt work and you get all gobby? Nice!
The link is a vital part of a deal!
eg. Rex theres a pan set at debenhams going for a song but i'm too lazy to make sure I get the link correct, in fact cant be bothered with a link at all so find them yourself! If I did that would people vote hot or cold?

REXISMYDOG;1539758
vote it cold - i dont care - ive got my £150 delta tickets so does this face look bothered !!!!! and thats why these forums dont work at times as idiots like you just vote cold as a revenge tactic - how sad are you eh !!!!!!!
ps u aint helped me owt b4 either just to point owt m8

And you call the poster you insulted lazy? Flipping heck you cant even be bothered to type in comprehensible English, even babelfish can't translate that tripe! Learn some ettiquette and manners mate.

well done on the Delta deal but are you on a mobile texting this or what M8!!!?

I dont vote cold on the basis of the numpty who posts it - just on the deal - which is about the same as the virgin deal at the minute - so its not good or bad, just average.

Oh and why write "owt" when "out" has the exact same amount of letters?

get over yourself please, it wont allow you to go direct to a deal as it times out after a couple of mins so you will have to do it manually

Rex,try not to get so stroppy with people in your threads,it gets peoples back up and they vote it cold for that reason only ans what is a hot deal shows as cold and people miss out.
I have now though!
thanks for hotel code.

will flights work with more dates?

most flights I have checked to NY are £300+ with most airlines
get over yourself please, it wont allow you to go direct to a deal as it times out after a couple of mins so you will have to do it manually
Link doesn't work, yes I've done it manually.

Still a pain and no I haven't voted it cold

Many Thanks OP for taking the time to write your report, it's very much appreciated.
We have just completed our 1st diy summer holiday booking this year - saving a massive £700 off the online package price.
We booked our flights through BA some 6 months ago for £245, thats total for 3 adults - today's price is over £700!!
I would suggest to anyone booking diy - for the best prices, book flights early and accommodation late.
i booked a s/c holiday this week may bank holiday ,2 adults.
original price £822 i paid £368. 10 mins on internet & 1 call to travel agent / all booked.
Thanks for the great advice, I was looking at brochured holidays for Sri Lanka, our daughter and future SIL didnt think they could afford to come with us, but if I can reduce it as much as you did, then its on!!!!!!! So many thanks!
Thank you for the advice, always welcome  voted hot
hey great that u got a great deal to malaysia. i'm from there and i hope that u will enjoy yourself. PM me if u need advice on where to eat, visit etc. cheers
