Really great skates, I've now got my own pair, they're extremely comfortable and extremely well made (You'd expect nothing less from a quality brand like Airwalk)

There are some online still:

But plenty more Instore!

I'd thoroughly recommend getting the size above your normal size. I take a 9 but bought a 10.

Additionally I picked up these wrist and knee protective pads, made by No Fear. £5.99 reduced from £11.99 so 50% off:

I needed an XL set and my girlfriend a M set so again, try them on and you'll probably need a size bigger then you think.

They must be for stumpy people. >_<

loving the huge stopper :giggle: I suppose they are for regular use though. (just as annoying as those silly ice-skates with picks on the front if you are experienced!)

Of course, but how many people who buy them will do that? Unless they supply you with a slightly shorter bolt to compensate for the lack of stopper plastic on the current-length bolt

they are usually easily removable, without the need for more bolts etc.

Chances are those "Ice Hockey style" in-lines you saw were by Roces, one of the leading manufacturers in skating..and if so were if in your size well worth buying.

Thanks for the heads up on this, we went looking for these Airwalk ones which the store didnt have and came up trumps with Roces for 20 quid reduced from 99 instead.

Some research shows they are old models but even so you dont get this sort of quality skates for the money. I got size 10 Roces Street, my wife ended up wtih size 9 Roces Chapter 322, both in there Street range...a quick google showed these are older models, but both are amazing value if at all you stumble across them in your size...both have detachable grind rails (not that I intend using as yet as I am totally new to In-line skating....however as a beginner I dont think I could have gotten a better set)

I found even though I am a size 8 or 9 depending on the shoe I needed a UK size 10 in these, my wife a size 8 found the size 9 comfortable. So i recommend if you see them trying on at least one size above what you are.

Went to another Sports In Store afterwards and they only had the Airwalk ones, no sign of Roces at all...so I guess its hit or miss with these....for the same starting price of 99 quid, they are far better quality skates with decent spares. For a sale price a third less than the Airwalk ones they are an excellent buy even if an older range of Roces.

Cicobuff, you are so lucky! I'd love a pair of those Roces - I much prefer the look of them to the Airwalks. Thanks for the info and link - can I ask what store you bought them at?

It's just a shame they don't have them online! The nearest store to me is Bristol which is a 40 - 50 mile round trip, but may give them a call and see if they've got any in stock.

Yeah, we are happy bunnies this evening for sure, we got them at the Kidderminster store. My wife had the last pair I believe of Size 9 of the Chapter 322's (and I believe that was literally the only pair of 322's they had) I had the last pair of Size 10's of the Street with are similar in style to the current M12's. They had another 3-4 boxes of thoses, however I am unsure of the sizes, at memory I think there was a size 7, 11 & 12..but not 100% sure.

May be worth a call first thing in the morning so they can confirm if these sizes could suit?

Hi Cicobuff, thanks for the info - I Just phoned the Kidderminster store, and he said they did have some in stock (was after some Roces Street size 11) but they don't offer any form of mail order (collection instore only) which is totally out of the question as it's a 170 mile round trip, LOL!! :-D

Just tried to phone the Bristol store, and a recorded message says "this phone number does not receive incoming calls" - fat lot of good that is!!!

Can they not do a stock shift to another store for you I wonder? I would offer to get them and ship them to you, however its a 35 mile round trip myself to do so, then with the size and weight of the parcel I am not sure how much it would be in shipping on top.

Lets hope you can get through to your slightly more local Bristol store. Did you take the Bristol number from their website or did the guys at Kidderminster give you the number? If they did, then look up the store number via the website, perhaps it may be different.

Do you want a bolt slapping about as you skate? Well, I sure don't :whistling:

turn or drag your foot!:w00t:

You could drag your foot sideways as is common, but with skinny wheels like these, they would cone in no time at all. There are much better ways of stopping, but it takes a bit of practise!

The 322 are similar to the Majestics. Not bad at all, but a long ankle which is a bit awkward for some people (me). I still have my Roces Khuti ( http://images.google.co.uk/images?hl=en&resnum=0&q=roces+khuti&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi ), which in their day were absolutely awesome. Cost £220 ... and being 15, that was a lot of funds to save up! The sole plate is huge on these, which makes grinds last much longer.

Hi all,

with thanks to cicobuff's information, I managed to get a pair of Roces Street rollerblades at the Sport World branch in Bristol Broadmead last night for £20!!

They previously retailed at £99.99, so I'm cuffed to bits! Don't think they had many in stock, so it's worth phoning prior to traveling long distances. I normally take a size 10 shoe, so got a size 11 skate and they fit perfectly.

I uploaded a load of photos to Photobucket, so take a look if you're interested:

Very nice skates there! But They're "aggressive inline" skates for stunts/pipes etc, so not very useful for simply skating for leisure.

they got it now at 25
