Wow! AKAI. That's a name from the past!

Not sure £700+ is a bargain though

Don't think it's the Akai some of us will remember form the past....I think it would be a safe bet it's a Vestel or UMC tv branded Akai under license

Edit: yup...Vestel

Wow, that looks VERY curved!

Presumably Android system as it mentions Google Play store access.

For a 65" curved UHD it sounds a good price to me, heat added.

I didn't want to mention the .... 'V' word so early in the thread :D

Akai still seems to exist as a corporation so perhaps they actually make it? :{

Heat just because I haven't heard Akai since the early 90's!

Wouldn't buy it myself though, suspect it'd be a bit poor

Seems like in the UK it's just licensed to someone else.

What is logic of that comment ? you wouldn't buy it because you suspect it would be a bit poor yet you are quite prepared to add heat because you haven't heard of them for a while ! Can't wait until the incas or aztecs are mentioned in a post ! next you'll be voting hot on something because you like the colour of it !

I meant audio cassette . Aiwa were renowned for their Hifi cassette decks and tape walkman.

Made the best 'walkman' with graphic equalizer ever. 8)

Could be a 65" version of this one.

oem catalogue here

Without a full specification it can't be recommended because Vestel offer a wide range of options to their customers on how tv's are spec'd. I actually have a Vestel set myself and love it. Absolutely brilliant but Vestel operate like a PC supplier where the customer dictates what actually goes into the set. Also personally you need to be sure you want a curved screen. Personally I'm not a fan of curved at all.

To quote wikepedia

One of the best TV during 1990s

As was Toshiba and Sharp. Sadly now mainly produced by Vestel or others.
