read the post mate, It's all explained better than I could... goes in a drive bay, extra connections, card reader, fan controller etc

Not bad bit of kit - I got the silver one a few years ago (looks identical but could be an older model) and it doesn't support SDHC cards in the front, which is a royal pain now capacities are getting bigger and costs are getting smaller....
Sadly I wasted my money on this a few months ago (actually paid only a few pence more than this after getting PC World to price match Misco).

It's an awful piece of kit I'm afraid. Too cluttered and the fan alarm is nothing short of erratic (will go off after booting up as the fan speed hasn't gotten up yet), and even on the lowest fan speed settings made the fan spin much harder than was necessary at low temperatures. The convenience of having the card reader and additional front ports built it wasn't worth putting up with it so I took it out and it's sitting on a shelf just now.
What is it?

its a box in the picture :whistling:
i got one of these. http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.9404

its brilliant. does all different types of cards, takes microsd without adapter, msproduo without adapter. and supports SDHC and microSDHC.

really fast too.
I'm gathering you can run an external SATA from tis... If so I may be sorely sorely tempted... Off to check some feedback 1st!

yes mate, review here with more details
i have had this for a long time its a messy addon i removed it soon after installation. Wires everywhere.
I purchased it for £25 a year ago.

Would not recommend it.
I bought this one for £6.84 with other items from ebuyer - so got free delivey - but even with delivery it works out cheaper for basically the same thing:

I agree its messy - but wanted a card reader I wouldnt lose all the time!! lol. So only really use it for that and additional USB ports.

Otheres here cheaper:

So a bit too costly - but good looking!
