There is a lot of fakes with these so how reputable is the company?

Yes great shop. Used to have a few shops but only one left in Romford now. Used to get all my music tech equipment from them

These guys are one of the big players in the music/dj tech game, alongside the likes of decks and thomann.

Are these better than k452?
#13
So are these over ear rather than on ear? Better sound than the k450's?

Very.
Aka Digital Village, they have bricks and mortar stores all over the UK.

I'm no expert and haven't owned lots of headphones but bought these a long time back in ASDA for £25. The sound is a lot "crisper" than other headsets I have owned (all under £50 gaming headsets). No noise isolation at all, leaks out and leaks in. Personally I rate them for the price I paid.

If you want to know how reputable the company is, I strongly recommend you read this prior to purchase:

Ethically, morally and rationally you should not deal with DV247. Ask a reputable UK dealer to price match instead.

Have there been any deals on open backs recently? Been really wanting a pair.

Are these better than k452?

sound wise I don't know, but I remember tried a similar version to this one, and it annoyed me a bit when I used while walking. the plastic structure seems very weak and I could hear them "cracking" every step... not sure if it was that specific version (probably K510 or K511, it was like 4 years ago), or any of those K51X.

I'm happy with mine K452 -

Are these as good as / better than AKG K451 anyone any experience ?

They closed all their stores other than their head office when they went into administration.

Their stock is sourced from Germany as no UK supplier will deal with them any more.

When they went into administration, it was a pre-planned move. And, in full knowledge that by going into administration their debts would be wiped, they would owe nothing to their suppliers or staff, they continued to place large orders with suppliers right up to the day before the administration was announced. They deliberately maxxed out the debt they owed. Suppliers lost out. Staff lost out through not being paid and losing their jobs. And the public lost out by Digital Village charging customers VAT yet not paying it back to HMRC.

Again, I draw your attention to this article: http://theeccentricblog.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/digital-village.html

If you feel comfortable supporting a company like that, then go for your life. Me, I take my business elsewhere.

I've used the company in its new incarnation. 99% of everything I've had has come from UK distributors and I've had no issues when there's been an problem with an advance RMA on a Genelec monitor and parts sent direct from Shure UK that were missing from the box. Some product has been delivered from Germany by UPS quicker than I've had UK deliveries from others. I've had no issues registering products with the UK distributors or getting UK tech support.

There are many arguments relating to Amazon and others with tax avoidance. There are other companies that price match and I can recommend GAK in Brighton who offer great service as well but not always the best for pricing.

I agree that, after looking at that link, that the actions of ordering product from a company knowing that you are insolvent and about to do a package insolvency deal so will never pay for the goods is despicable and this sort of thing should be 100% illegal.

John Lewis price match with the Romford store?? http://www.johnlewis.com/akg-k512-mkii-full-size-headphones-black-silver/p231812867

According to reviews, these are awful for sound isolation - if you're listening to music, everyone else will be.
#31
The AKG k44 for £19 seem a better bet for sound isoltion and have good reviews?
