Terrible build quality apparently, but if you've got money to burn, they seem good.

Excellent sound, but the fit is much too tight. Very uncomfortable if worn for long periods. Only worn mine twice and gave them away.

I hope not, as all reviews seem to be positive, eg Amazon, http://www.head-fi.org/products/akg-k-518-le-limited-edition-folding-headphones-red/reviews,http://head-phones.findthebest.com/l/83/AKG-K-518-LE etc. (could all be marketing at work, but still a good price)

Worth a punt, advice seems to be to stretch them over something for a few days to soften the grip.

Would snap these up but for the colours!

Shame what has become of HTFR.
Used to be great for hardware and now they just sell tat.

Has anyone had confirmation of shipment yet? link now seems to be dead.

I've had a 'dispatched' email, no item yet, will post when it turns up, but yeah, according to their facebook : site is currently down due to a hard disc failure

This is a great deal. Had a pair of these (from HTFR too) a few years ago and though quality of the cable wasn't the best (and ultimately led to their downfall), they sounded great for the money (sure they were about £50ish) and I loved them. They sadly broke on me and I bought some other headphones which broke last Friday so I've ordered these. Can't wait to have them again. Thanks to the OP!

I've not even had a dispatch mail, just mail from PayPal to confirm money has been taken.

Never did get confirmation but they turned up today, first impressions are that the cable is very short and the headphones aren't very loud.

Got mine today as well, yeah cable is pretty short, but fine for me as mp3 player use, and not that keen on cable dangling down either side (my others, one cable goes round back of neck), but I was pretty impressed with sound quality, especially loudness / bass, then again, they're replacing some 5yr old in ear sennheiser CX300 (which are still working fine, but are a bit grubby in the grills) so bass could only get better, but I'm very happy with these for under £20

oh, and like the posh carry bag they come with + 3.5 to 1/4" were a bonus!

2nd impressions are much as the first, cable is stupidly short and really only fit for a sound source kept on your person, and the volume is just not what you'd call loud (tested on a number of devices).

"worth a punt"?, for me personally they'll just be kept as a 2nd to the headphones I have (house of marley's which up until now I've always thought were a bit meh, but these AKG's make them sound like world beaters). For less than 20 quid they're probably what you'd expect from an rrp at that price, at the £50 they are elsewhere I'd be well disappointed if this is what £50 bought me.

Cheers for posting though, cured my desire to get some AKG's if nothing else.
