Not the best specs I know but I checked a few sites for this tv and it is around £259 so a bargain IMO.
Already checked and the picture quality is fine to me. Far better than the TV I had in the bedroom from Boffer (Bigpockets).

It's in this week's Makro mail on their Christmas refit special (Store Launch Offers) and is on for 2 weeks.

Hope the info is of use to some.

24" 1080p LCD freeview TV, DVD,
1 HDMI
1920x1080 resolution
Contrast ratio 1000:1
Brightness 300cd/m2
Adjustable aspect ratio 16:9, 4:3
Headphone socket (many I looked at didn't have this which was essential for the bedroom)
Audio 2x2w but sounded much louder - too loud on max for me.
1 scart
RF and composite AV sockets
Audio in 3.5mm
PC VGA input
Sleep timer

In the Cardiff store but it's not a new store as it's been there for many years. Many stores have had a bit of a re-fit and stock move around so I guess it's for that.
Reference number is 335627 if you want to give your local store a shout.

I'm not surprised. Makro are closing stores rather than opening new ones.

True, but from what I was told, only two stores closed; the Swansea and one in England though the Swansea one was used as their junk shop for a few months off-loading all the customer returns for the Company.

Is there a USB port and does it play divx/xvid?

Hi,
No USB port and I'm unable to test Divx and there's no mention of it on the box.

Thanks, appreciated, hot deal, but most likely store specific to Cardiff only, most of the Makro Mailers with an extra sheet/leaflet are :)

Hi,
It didn't have an extra sheet - it's the front page of the normal 48+ page Makro Mail.
Hope that helps,

Nice deal, I prefer my 23" LG for £185 though.
Prob better quality than Akura but I won't touch LG screens again. Bought one last year and the ghosting is terrible. 42" plasma (42PC55) but should have paid a bit more and had a LCD me thinks.

Coventry (my nearest store, which is why I haven't visited a Makro in about a year) :-(

Was at the Glasgow store for it opening this morning, and a nice lady gave me a voucher for £30 off £300 spend (had to get soem shopping as well ) So I'm classing the telly as costing me £130.99 (its certainly easier to explain a £130 spend!!!!)

Hi,
there is Makro in Aberdeen. i have heard you need a pass for it, is that true?

I will take a look in Sheffield see if they have it in. Great price. Have some heat

No built in freeview? Was thinking of taking my 22" Technika back to Tesco, £180 it cost and there's a noticable lighter boarder around the edge of the panel - especially against blacks

Would pick this up as a replacement if it had freeview
#17
Oh yes just seen it in the title but not the decription...

Is this TV any good then, would it be any better than the one i mentioned above?

Where was that from if you don't mind me asking?

Its in the Glasgow makro too, I seen it in my makro mail. I got it the other month when it was on offer before. Watched freesat HD on it and was excellent quality, I was surprised how good the picture quality was. only down side was the connection panel with the scart, HDMI and arial socket was a bit loose and the unit developed a fault after 2 weeks and would not turn on from standby with the remote control so I had to return it, don't think its a common problem as they had sold out and did not have any other returns. I think I got it for £170 inc Vat.

Thanks for this. Heat added and I went and bought one yesterday. I called to reserve it and they agreed to, even though it was a sale item. I haven't taken it out of the box yet but it says it's got freeview built in so not sure why people are saying it hasn't.
