I have had 2 Akura things before and both were returned, imo it's rubbish so dont buy! sorry but cold from me.
#3
Akura aren't a manufacturer, they just brand the same Chinese stuff as everyone else does. Not going to buy one as I already have spare Freeview recorders never mind STBs but I can't see that as anything other than a bargain to be honest.
#4
Surprised this is so cold, complete steal for £10!
#5
The digital switchover has just recently happened in my area, the big shops seem to have hiked the prices for basic boxes up to nearer £20 even for single scart ones, and are often out of stock.

There's huge demand for basic freeview boxes - that listing is showing 3022 sold as I type this.
#6
The listing has ended. You can no longer buy this product!

If your tv doesnt have inbuilt freeview i would leave the box and think about getting a new tv,
#16
Bought one of these for my little fellas TV in his room, they are rubbish, using a digital high gain Ariel and an added booster the signal is showing as over 90% and yet it still breaks up into little squares, don't waste your money on these they are a waste of money, time and phone calls in trying to return them

New box - 10 quid

New TV 300 - 1000 quid

I'll stick with using a box until the TV breaks......

You may need a booster, you'll certainly need an aerial.

thanks for the response : )

got an amplified aerial from argos today for £14.99, still not working most of the time, showing "no signal"

checked my postcode, it's fine to receive all freeview channels, where can i get a booster? or shall i just return the freeview box?
#26
Mine is the same, but think that's due to using a portable aerial, think I'll flog it, should get my £10 back!

This is still available on the ebay outlet site and on there other site of bargain crazy
#31
Bot one, bargain at £10. No use for older telly's though, but worked fine on the one with freeview.
#32
"No use for older telly's though,"

Older tellies are exactly what it is for - why would you need to add Freeview to a TV that already had Freeview?
Works fine on my ancient 14" portable
#33
Some older tellies don't even have scart sockets - just aerial input.
For those you'd need a freeview box with RF output (e.g. thomson 2300)
#34
Will it work with 405 line?
