Past Present and Future, one of his best. If I hadn't already got it on LP and CD and iPod... I might buy it again !!

I have to agree, Nostradamus is fantastic track as is Roads To Moscow. And the amount packed into The Last Day Of June 1934 is stunning, particularly the last line. . .

His Later stuff for RCA - Year Of The Cat & Al Stewart's - 24 Carrots are really worth checking out if you haven't got them.

I've everything up to Russians and Americans, which I thought was a bit of dip. But I liked Last Days of the Century even less!

I wanted to like Sparks of Ancient Light (if only for the title) but found nothing there. As I said I thought it was me getting old and cynical... maybe not.

Thought The same here Russians was a less consistent album
and I stopped listening to his music after that.

One of my all-time favourite artists since buying Modern Times on vinyl way back when!

Have to agree that Sparks & Beach weren't great but 2001's Down in the Cellar is a good album. The latest live offering (Uncorked) captures the essence of his recent live performances with Dave Nachmanoff & is very good.
