Quick search and cheapest i could find.

Bringing a new style of storytelling to Xbox 360, Alan Wake is a psychological action thriller from Remedy, the developers of the successful Max Payne series. In this dynamic new title exclusively for Xbox 360, players assume the role of Alan Wake, a best-selling suspense author suffering from writer's block, who escapes to a small town only to experience the mysterious disappearance of his wife.

Set in the deceptively idyllic town of Bright Falls, Washington, Alan Wake immerses players in an intense and expansive cinematic world that enables players to explore the hyper-realistic and interactive environments. Alan Wake is mission-based with a deeply engaging and suspenseful storyline unveiling new twists and profound character revelations at every turn.

Players will unravel the riveting plot through multilayered character interactions, unique problem-solving and intense combat against terrifying enemies. In this nightmarish world, where fantasy and reality collide, Alan Wake must use a variety of weapons to survive, including his most powerful ally against the darkness - light itself.

look, just because it's the cheapest you could find doesn't make it a deal.

it's been out for quite awhile, has been under £10 - and will be again, and someone will have it cheaper than this in the next few days.

also, if you're really after the cheapest price then why not pick it up 2nd hand?

either way, not a deal. cold.

you've been a member for two weeks and in that time you haven't uploaded any deals at all.

therefore, shut up.

No, he's right. The game isn't all that and i've seen it as cheap as £9.80...shall I go into Lidl and find the cheapest 'cola' and make a thread about it? Just because it's the cheapest price doesn't automatically make it 'hot'...the game is less than mediocre...so cold.

What sort of idiotic comment is that? Learn some bloody manners. He had a perfectly valid comment whether he had been a member for for two minutes, two weeks or two decades, and regardless of how many deals he has posted. This isn't a great deal because it has been cheaper at quite a few places recently. A good deal isn't just the cheapest price at a certain time, it's also the value of a product. Having paid a tenner a week ago, four quid extra isn't a good deal. Plus, prices change all the time; if every single time the cheapest option altered it was posted, for every product out there, this place would be absolutely clogged.

Great game, playing through it now, just over halfway. Highly recommended, especially for a story fan.

Theres no need at all for hostility, the rating system gives everything its own gravity (in this case doooownwards).

It is a valid deal as it is the cheapest current price (unless you know better, in which case it would be constructive to point it out) if somebody was searching for a good price on alan wake (which is a pretty good game) at least this would come up in the search.

Why dissuade the poster from making further posts with this kind of attitude - next time they might find something you want.

Better prices may be available in the past or the future, but unless you have a time machine its not a lot of use if you want/need something now.

Cool avatar though, maybe you could do with being a little more like spike though (ie laid back)

i'm honestly not trying to split hairs or be argumentative or anything - i'm actually trying to understand. can you tell me what you see as being aggressive?

i often see posts where people just say something like "this is rubbish, cold" without explaining why, so i actually took the time to explain why this wasn't a good deal. i don't think i said anything unreasonable and i don't think i said anything in an unreasonable way.

unlike the OP's response, which was just daft.

if you sense hostility when you read my original post, then it's because you've chosen to see it that way. it's not actually there.

when i suggested perhaps buying it 2nd-hand i wasn't trying to be a smartarse; it was an actual, honest, suggestion. i buy pre-owned games all the time and, right now, if i was looking to buy Alan Wake i'd be going that route rather than buying new at that price...

ugh. i'm tired now.

EDIT
i guess we have different ideas as to what merits a "deal". the reason i don't see this as one was put pretty well by The Gunslinger, above;
This isn't a great deal because it has been cheaper at quite a few places recently. A good deal isn't just the cheapest price at a certain time, it's also the value of a product.

Its your first line, its reads a little ... punchy, it colors the rest of your otherwise reasonably constructed post badly.

I think its the 'look' thing at the start, the way you're demanding extra emphasis and attention on your completely subjective value judgment. It just comes over as being angry.

but if you said that first line IRL you could say it kindly or reproachfully and it would seem perfectly normal.

i don't think it "comes over as being angry" at all. instead, it's as if you're choosing to read it that way. you could have chosen, just as easily, to see it as being quite a gentle way to start a post.

and for what it's worth, i find you to be pretty condescending.

i think i've dedicated enough of my sunday to this, now.

later.

This is the cheapest i've seen it new,
however i purchase most things preowned and got the collectors ed. for £14.99 (+student discount :P)
well worth a play if you are sick of being an overpowered spacemarine/commando/whatever (i like games like that too, but sometimes a game where you are fragile is good too) love the story especially reading along with the collectors book too :)

but yes, cheapest new and LOTS of "new" deals on this site get hot even if cheaper preowned.
so hot from me!
