Alan Wake is a psychological action thriller from Remedy, the legendary and renowned developers of highly successful action titles. Gamers assume the role of Alan Wake, a best-selling suspense author who escapes to a small town to recover from the mysterious disappearance of his fiancée.

Set in the deceptively idyllic town of Bright Falls, Washington, Alan Wake immerses players in an intense and expansive cinematic world that enables players to roam freely in hyper-realistic, dynamic and interactive environments. Alan Wake is mission-based with a deeply engaging and suspenseful story line unveiling new twists and profound character revelations at every turn. Players will unravel the riveting plot through multilayered character interactions, unique problem-solving and intense combat against terrifying enemies. In this nightmarish world, Alan Wake must use a variety of weapons to survive, including his most powerful ally against the creatures of darkness light itself.

Very much so. It's worth £30 in my book. Get's a little... Silly... Towards the end, but still very good. Easily one of the best 360 exclusives.

All that time in development, 7 years.... Was a 360 launch title showcase then became a punchline like Duke Nukem. Then it came out, was really average and now it's a tenner at Play X)

Am I right in thinking this comes with a code to download one of the episodes., or was that only for it's launch?

Good deal and heat added. Cheers.

I enjoyed it and would pay about £20 for it. Although I didn't get to finish it...due to my Xbox 360 dying...whilst the game was in...but it want the games fault :P

BUY THIS!

Great game worth a tenner, think all unused and sealed come with a DLC one new episode hot from me.

One of the worst "games" I ever played. It's more like join the dots in it's complete and total linearity - this is 2011, where are the big open maps? And collecting Thermos flasks etc, how trite is that?

These are the people that made Max Payne. Max Payne is class, this isn't.
#13
it is linear
it is frustrating
it is repetitive

I remember this, all that hype then became xbox exclusive then no one cared X)

Personally thought this was one of the best games I played last year. Far more interesting that all the COD clones and generic 3rd person shooters. The plot winds like a classic TV show and while predictable in places I still found it really good. I think the combat system is worth commending as using the light adds a real twist to the usual run and gun games. Most of the time I found it easier just to leg it towards the next lamppost rather than fight!

For the person who asked, my copy came with a code to download the first DLC for free. Nothing amazing in it but an extra hour of game is never to be sniffed at. I think I spent about 3 days solid playing this + the two DLC packs. You'd really struggle to find something better for £10

Uncharted 2 is linear, its also one of the best games ever made.

I thoroughly enjoyed this game, although it was a play only once game for me. Well woth a tenner

It's a good game and well worth a tenner.

Hot!

This game is 9.85 at the hut, posted the deal about a week or so ago. Great game, currently my fave game on the 360.
#19
Laughably repetitive and one-dimensional but it's entertaining enough

Come on guys, loosen up...so much criticism about almost every game, just learn to enjoy a wider variety of games, I really like what I've played of this game, it's really fun and creepy.

Definitely. I thought the combat got really boring as the game went on, because it never changes. I enjoyed the story and atmosphere, though, and I think overall it's a good game, and definitely worth £10.

Worth a tenner all day long
#23
for £10 you really can't go wrong
#24
Great game.
Think of it more as a scary interactive novel, more than a game.

Very good price- have some heat
#26
Great game. The combat is repetitive, but the production vales (facial animations aside) and story more than make up for it.
#27
The game is fantastic and really worth playing, one of my top 3 games of 2010 for me.
#28
CHILDREN OF THE ELDER GOOOOOD
#29
Great game. Worth a Tenner for sure.
#30
I loved this game. It's one of the spookiest games I've ever played. Much more tense than silent hill. And at a tenner it's a steal.

Fantastic game, great price, i bought this for £5.99 from GAME yesterday as a buy-back as i had already played it in 2010.

There is also a spin-off in development called Night Springs (based off a show within the game) that will be released for the Xbox Live Arcade, that should hold people over until they make Alan Wake 2.

Its very scary lmaooo, brilliant game for £10!!!!

How did you get it so cheap? Mine just got delivered from Play today and the DLC code is missing anyone else bought this and had the same problem?
