What pray tell, does the collectors edition have that the normal edition doesnt have? Apart from a bigger box and more crap?

Same here. Codes for downloads that will become free within a year. Not really worth it, plus I'd wait for reviews. A game isn't in development for 5 years, constantly being resurrected at press events for nothing, I'll bet they've had serious problems behind the scenes.

I notice they have scrapped the PC version - Probably so they can say they have an extra exclusive. Glad i got rid of my 360 now. Screw em.

Read the OP maybe? You get the first DLC pack (i'm guessing a saving of 800-1200 MSP) and a load of "crap", though in this instance I could actually see me using it. The book and dashboard theme could be quite cool.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe they stopped producing new HMV discount cards months ago.

Yep, when Alan Wake was first announced it was advertised as being the most high tech graphical game ever. It was supposed to show what a PC was capable of but then they took ages developing it and recently stated that the PC version was cancelled because the game would be much better played on the 360, lol. Plus Crysis came out and pretty much redefined what could be done on a PC.

Not voting myself.

The contents of this edition looks a little dull and I'm usually all over 'special' editions like a rash. No PC support is a joke but then that's what the gaming industry has now become.

Just read they dropped the PC version. It doesn't make any sense unless as a cost-cutting exercise on a long over-run project that maybe they are having difficulty completing or launching on any other format. Either way it doesn't bode well for the game in my opinion.

Coming soon, maybe, sometime in the future, possibly, perhaps.

Awww didums

Confirmed May 18th release date. From the gameplay footage I've seen I'm liking the look of this quite a lot, plus it's from Remedy, makers of one of my all time favourite games Max Payne.

Ouch, your rebellion really has shown Microsoft a thing or two!

I think it's a great special edition personally. 3 discs of content, a 144 page book, a free premium theme and avatar content and the first DLC pack for free, plus it all comes in a case that looks like a book for about £2-£3 more than sites are selling the standard edition for. What console special editions have been better than this for less than 40 quid?

If it came out for the PC, it would still have run on Microsoft Windows and as the publishers they'd have earned royalties from that. It would still have been a Microsoft exclusive, just not an Xbox 360 exclusive.

Yeah, my number from the 2008-2009 card is still working. Thanks for the tip. I've just pre-ordered it from HMV for £35.99. +1 Rep
