Just use the code MM10 to get this price.. Probably the cheapest CE at the moment.. Don't forget 3.5% Quidco as well, which is £2.50, so £33.26 makes it a very good price :)

Good price, voted hot... but I'm gonna hold out for this one I think. I assume it has no multi-player, and I'll be a little annoyed if I end up completing it in a weekend!

There's no MP, but not every game needs that ya know.

It's meant to take 12 hours but if you can manage that in a weekend I feel for you.

Anyone know what The Hut are like delivery-wise?

Not exactly a glowing review from Ellie Gibson of Eurogamer:
"...All the same, there's a weekend's worth of fun here for action-adventure fans who aren't too bothered about innovative concepts and varied gameplay, and don't mind a lot of repetition. Alan Wake is an accessible, undemanding game with a neat combat mechanic and decent visuals. It's just not a very original game, it's certainly not an exceptional one, and it's a shame it wasn't ready a few years ago."
(7/10)

In contrast Charles Onyett at IGN gave the title 9/10 (& the "Editors' Choice Award") whilst stating it is "...hard to put down once you have started" but did criticise the writing as "uneven".

Has anybody visited [ http://BrightFalls.com ] & watched the "prequel" content there yet?

This is a Eurogamer reviewer who gave Just Dance a 7/10 (Metacritic gives it 48/100) and Dante's Inferno a 6/10 (Metacritic gives it a 75/100).

She generally reviews Casual Wii games, so take her opinion with a pinch of salt.

Giant Bomb sound positive about it, good enough for me.

According to the thread for the Voucher Code:

"Heads up - 10% Off Everything (apart from pre-orders, consoles, electronics and computing) from Friday 7th May to 5pm Saturday 8th May"

Confused!?!

Got it today, yet to play. Looks promising.
#12
played it for a few hours(not bad game)

Its rubbish and very annoying it keeps stopping every 2 minutes to tell you a story and the controls are clunky you cant run fast half the time so you cant outrun the boring enemy which all look the same who chop you as they move faster than you and the graphics are pretty rubbish.

This game is another alone in the dark and will be £4.99 in a couple of months, I'd waited for this as it sounded great but I'm glad i never ordered it and had a chance to play it as it saved me £39 its very disappointing and tiresome within 30minutes.

Ive put it down 3 times in half an hour out of boredom and frustration with the repetitive game play and the constant interruptions with cut scenes and theres nothing worse than playing a game making some progress then in the next scene 3 months earlier and not to mention the boat trip to the island at the beginning that goes on for ever with you walking round like a moron.

As for 12hours to finnish it 8hours will be cut scenes that you have to skip every 2 minutes.
#15
For those planning on holding off, only the initial stock of Alan Wake will include the next episodic DLC for free. If you wait, you'll have to pay for the DLC should you want it.

after reading some of the reviews from people on here i'm considering cancelleing my pre-order, had it on order for months from play.com, was really loooking forward to it, is it that bad?
#17
completed the game 2 days ago, its a fantastic play but not worth more than 20 quid *brand new*.. the game is EXTREMELY short... so be warned.

It's sitting at an average score of 85% out of 42 reviews: -

great game, has very good gameplay mechanics, but the plot is very difficult to get your head around and doesn't really make a lot of sense. I would definitely recommend playing it.

so this is what happens after 5 years development?
there goes my theory about longer development leading to bigger, better games.
im still confident in GT5 though.

Remedy employs 45 people, compared to the 140 employed by Polyphony Digital. Not that you care of course. You don't even own a 360 and you're here to do your usual trolling.

So you pirated it?

And you suck at games, don't need to bring others down around you.

So you simultaneously blast a small company for taking 5 years to make a game and then say you have high hopes for a large company that's taken even longer to make a game which has direct competition from Forza 3 and even Forza 2 in the same timeframe?

Yeah, sounds like too much mental stimulation for you. You probably think books are **** too, bit like slow telly.

Looking forward to this!

Honestly, will you please take it elsewhere now? Preferably gamefaqs.com or one of the other sites where that counts as normal conversation.

I'm not a solid supporter of either console but some of your comments are really starting to annoy me.

Its not bad, not great like I was expecting. visuals are excellent with the use of light. Needs to be played in the dark with HD and surround sound for true effect. Story so far seems good and indepth... But the game play is a bit repetitive... Going to see if it picks up.

And yes its the finished game .... some stores got a hold of it at the start of the month, so naturally a copy was online a couple of days later....

But I would probably still buy it if I didn't have a banned & legit xbox to try this sort of stuff
#30
Awesome, same for me, new order placed, old order cancelled. Thanks!!

How long is the duration of game-play you are basing your pricing upon?

I was just curious what sort of financial value per minute you put on your gaming & on the additional items in the Collector's Edition of the title.

Thanks for your anticipated interesting reply.

Could you elaborate on your "repetitive" comment, please?

Is the game a case of finding clues as well as going back & forth across various locations to retrieve more information or finding "treasures"?

I still got time to order at the reduced price if you do have the opportunity to reply in the next few hours.

Thanks.

I'm concerned the title may be a little like "Heavy Rain" that I was not looking forward to & the Playable Demo substantiated my concerns. (Then the "Official PlayStation Magazine UK" printed who the killer was in the current issue so I was glad I didn't play it anyway).

But, with respect to "Alan Wake", I wish to be persuaded as I haven't played anything "good" for some time (other than "Battlefield: Bad Company 2").

Shine light, shoot, shine light, shoot, shine light, shoot, click switch ....repeat You've seen it all before.

Last game I've seen worth playing was borderlands, everything else has been a disappointment.

This was the only exclusive title i was interested in for my 360 this year . I have to admit that my PS3 collection particularly over the last 18 months has got larger and larger whilst I have hardly bought a thing for 360 . How times are changing !

Anyone else who has completed this confused by the ending?

You obviously haven't played it then - unless you are talking about playing 12 hours straight

^^ Ending seemed pretty straight forward - can't elaborate as would be a spoiler, but it was a case of self sacrifice.

Ignore this clown he and another fanboy "sennasnit" were saying this same kind of rubbish on a deal yesterday but not on a deal for Alan wake but would you believe it for Uncharted 2 !!! -

It's really funny how they talk negatively about Alan Wake and hype but then go on about how great GT5 is going to be totally contradicting themselves -

http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/672042/uncharted-2-playstation-3-19-99-pre?page=2

Neither of those two have played this game they don't even have a 360 and the ones who claimed they have have played it have not got the official full final version it's not out until the 14 May so they are talking nonsense as well.

Oh do grow up, little boy. You're as bad as the so called "fanboys". Why you always feel the need to defend your precious 360 i'll never know. Like you say it's not out until the 14th. I never actually talked negative about AW, i just said that sometimes long development times can have a negative effect on reviews. and you have the cheek to call ME a stalker!:whistling:

So why ave you used "the lowest" and most negative score review on Metacritic of this game as any kind of an example in the first place ?,

http://gamingtrend.com/Reviews/review/review.php?ReviewID=1434

Why have a go at fanpages? Like everyone else he reads all reviews, doesn't just ignore the negative ones like you do, why do you feel so strongly about a game you haven't even played yet?
I read ALL the reviews for Modnation Racers and still decided I liked the sound of it, and I played the Beta, can you say the same for AW, I think not as there is no demo/Beta or anything. Learn to be more objective.:whistling:

Thanks sennasnit.

Chelskii: You may also note I also quoted another review that was one of the higher scores for the game.

I do read many reviews; far too many probably. I should just find one reviewer who rates a number of games that I have the same opinion of & just read their comments in future.

However, I like to have a balanced view & not everybody has the same impression of anything, hence why opnions exist. Each Metacritic reviewer has their own as do you.

Thank you for your own. I have taken it into account & will base my spending today on the item in this deal from all comments in this thread.

fp.
