Cheapest around for the collector's edition that I can find. I think Zavvi just knocked it below £40 so you can't use the APRIL4 £4 off code. If you can find something for 60p you can knock another £2 off (kind of). £39.99+ at Amazon, ShopTo, Play, Gameplay and HMV.

Put in APRIL2 code at checkout.

Shopto's description (Zavvi, Play and Amazon don't actually say what's in the limited collector's edition):

Alan Wake: Limited Collector's Edition contents:

Alan Wake game

Exclusive in-game audio commentary and hints by Remedy

"The Alan Wake Files" - 144 page book that includes a short story written by Alan Wake and compiles the FBI dossiers investigating the events in Bright Falls, WA

Exclusive Audio Disc with soundtrack and score

Game Add-On Token redeemable on Xbox LIVE for the first Alan Wake add-on content pack

Exclusive Xbox Disc with special content: Alan Wake Xbox LIVE Theme and Alan Wake Avatar for Xbox LIVE

I pre-rdered this for £37.95 form Zavvi so no point in cancelling and re-ordering for the sake in 50p

I'm amazed anyone bothers with pre-orders these days... prices drop so fast on new releases that if you wait a day or so I bet it will be around the £29.99 or even £25 mark!

I am quite happy to take you up on that bet, absolutely no way this will be £25 a day after release.

Just look at what happened to Modern Warfare 2 though... could happen to ANY title on launch.

Good point well made.

I've got to say, I have NEVER been as excited about a console game as I am about this. Its going to be superb.

huh? what if your dying for a game on release day? im not that cheap that im gonna torture myself with not a getting a game just to save 10-15 even £20

this is a limited edition also which unless its Gears 2 and released in a vast quantitiy, then it wont come down in price as it wont be avallable

if it s game im anything less than really excited but its that good that I would definitely purchase it, then I wait put it off until it gets down to the £15-20 then ill buy it, like say Bayonetta or the upcoming Splinter cell conviction

You do realise the reason MW2 was so cheap was because of its popularity? Not just on a single platform but its cross platform popularity and something only it, FIFA and GTA manage to do.

Then add the fact that this is a deal for the collectors edition and you have 0% of picking this up for £25 the day after release. It will reduce in price as all games do, places will do deals on it at some point but it the price and time frame you mention are a complete exaggeration.
