Brilliant game at a Brilliant Price. I bought the limited edition day one and don't regret it at that price. At £8.99 you'd be crazy not to! Been this price before i think but now it's back!

Excellent game, well worth under a tenner. Probably the best horror game since Res Evil 5.

Great game, well worth the price

You would hard pushed to find a better game for under a tenner, nice spot OP.

Fantastic game, really hoping for a sequel to be announced sometime soon!

Brilliant game, don't understand why it didn't do well. Well worth getting the add on content on marketplace. I actually enjoyed this game more than mass effect 2 & unchartered 2........but I am a twin peaks / x files / stephen king nut :)

Agreed, a superb game. I would've put disappointing sales down to it being a new IP but a lot of others have fared well this generation so who knows.

Still, to those on the fence, its well worth a punt at this price.

I found it very generic and too repetative. Also graphics were pretty shocking if im honest! Good price at a tenner though!

Bazz2k im guessing your still using an old low res crt tv, try it on an hdtv at 1080p & you will see the graphics are actually ok... ;)

I wish the deals on this game would just die.

Great game, a steal at that price.

Deffo worth 8.99. Im just going through this for the second time and I don't often do that!
#12
nice spot one to play after the kids have gone to bed
#13
If you have any interest in psychological Horror, this game will fit the bill perfectly!.
I think it is a real shame that for a game that is so great it really hasn't had the success it deserves and im sure many people like myself didn't play it till it droped under that elusive £10 mark.

"Brilliant game at a brilliant price"???
Not for me sorry ...repetative rubbish comes to mind imho, bought it at full price and was bored to death ...never finished it! However at less than a tenner, just about worth it ...have heat ;-)

I'll have the game if you don't want it ;)

Great game i thought, story was excellent

Crt TV - Quite the opposite actually, I play on a 120inch screen with 1080p projector (yes i am showing off!) hence bad graphics really show. Alan Wake actually runs at around 547p (randon i know) because of the intense lighting effects used. Don't want to come accross too offensive but - get your facts right!! :-)

I agree that the game does get repetitive after a while, but the first hour of play is very intense and atmospheric. That said though, the story was good and I found some of it to be quite original. It definitely isn't the best game around, but I didn't feel i'd wasted my time playing it when completed.

If you've not played and tempted, I recommend you take the plunge at this price.

Heat added :)

This game has got "I like things that are differen't" written all over it. The gameplay is unoriginal, dated and boring, the plot is trite. This game is marmite.
#19
Good for the price - but a game not for me.

Considering the amount of time this took to make I can only begin to imagine how disappointing it must have been for it to be a failure. Wasn't this made by the same people who made Max Payne?

Bored to death? You must have the attention span of a goldfish. The game is not long, and despite the repetition, creates an environment which is superbly realised, if a little lack in substance.

Paid full whack for it on release, and whilst it wasn't particularly brilliant, it's well worth £15 so £9 is a steal.

Started off great but far too repetitive, made Alone int he dark look like a masterpiece.

Felt like a five year old game, would have been better if it was released in 2009.

I don't consider myself having the attention span of a goldfish, but like I said ...it's not for me. It's a personal thing. Give me MW2 or Black Ops any day of the week.

Pretty good, but yes to being repetitive. If you've played a combat scene once, you've played them all.

Except for the big 3/4 of the way through on stage :-) Now that was awesome, the best part of the game by far.

I found myself hoarding weapons and ammunition throughout the game and often not using most of it by the time the chapter ended.

I didn't play the DLC, so I have no idea what it's like compared to the original story.

Anyway, have some heat - it's worth £8.99 :)

How's the horror in this game? Don't suppose it would be in the same ball park as Dead Space?
#25
No it's not but the atmosphere is much better imo

Oh dear...
Well, that explains a lot.

Fantastic game, completed it in one sitting which doesn't happen very often these days. Sense of tension and suspense is second to none, the pacing is perfect and the level design is exquisite.

One of the best games of this generation without doubt.

You've referred to a 'fantastic game' when in fact you were talking about two games to begin with. I know they say the CoD series has resorted to identikit sequels but come on!

MW2 and BO are not fantastic games. The online aspects are highly tedious and have removed all and any fun from the game. MW2's single player was marginally better than that of BO but that doesn't say much.

CoD4 ftw.

MW2 online is the best gaming experience "I personally" have ever taken part in. The entire Call of Duty series is the most popular in the history of gaming ...surely that speaks volumes. Anyway gaming has always been a personal thing. I totally respect anyone's choice of game, genre or indeed console. What f##ks me off is being told that my opinion is wrong.;)

Bear in mind that you get a code for the first DLC (The Signal) in the box with this, and the second DLC (The Writer) is currently half price on XBox Live. If you've just bought this, I recommend getting the DLCs too :)

Isn't Guitar Hero the most popular gaming series? Anyway, I digress. Each to their own, as they say.

Nope - Super Mario and Pokémon are, assuming you're going by sales.

Yes, how else would you measure popularity? Customer surveys?
