I'd personally spend the extra £8 for the collectors edition:

http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/620345/alan-wake-limited-collectors-editio

Actually, I'd prefer to wait til it's released. The game seems to be a cross between Max Payne and Alone in the Dark, which means it'll either end up brilliant or a pile of tedious crap.

I have a price-cap on games which is £30 so if you're like me, then this deal would be perfect for you. But i agree, in terms of content, the collectors edition is worth the extra 8 quids.

The first review of this game has leaked out (despite the review embargo......)

Spanish game mag Hobby Consolas have awarded it 93%, saying that it has "spectacular lightning, atmosphere and sounds combined with big scares and a perfect story rhythm that will leave you glued to the controller from start to finish"

EDIT: ^^^^ You beat me to it! :p

£32.04, I don't think that is a great deal for a single player game. There'll be plenty of places selling for at least as cheap as this on the day.

I'm sure it will be a good game, and have a high 90's Metacritic, but don't use this review as a yardstick. A comment on VG247-
"As a Spanish journalist, I must say Hobby Consolas isn’t a reliable magazine. They are knwon for their advertising-reviews, written for kids between 8-14 years, most times without having even played the game on its final stage. I read the review and it is so vague that I could have done it myself playing two or three hours.

With this I’m not saying the game is good or bad. Alan Wake might be a 10/10 or a 7/10 and HC wouldn’t see the difference. If I were you I would wait for another review to confirm the quality of the game.

PS: The review does not say that it lasts 16 hours, in fact they say it is between “10 to 16 hours”. A very long range, isn’t it?"

 Uh, why? What difference does it make if it's single or multi?

And? Sell it on and get most of your money back when you've completed it - or play it again.

It's called getting your moneys worth. £32 spent on a game you'll spend dozens of hours on is good business. This only lasts about 15 hours. £32 is expensive imo and you'll get this at least as cheap somewhere else on release week. Over the weeks beyond that the price will drop sharply because single player games always do.

All the trailers / in game I have seen look fairly unremarkable in terms of gameplay =/

Anyone link me to something which might change my mind?

Don't know you can get that sub-£20 occasionally.

You will be very lucky to get Heavy Rain below £25 on average though.

Heavy Rain was released 1 month after ME2 so the game has a 1 month advantage in the depreciation rate. By this time next month you'll see Heavy Rain going for roughly £20 which is what ME2 is going for now.

If I'm using Quidco, how do I get the money off Tesco Entertainment? - the Quidco website just takes me to the Tesco.com website and I want to make sure that I get my order
