If your going to buy alba, bush, beko etc,i would take out extendered warranty
My first ever tv was alba I bought over 20 years ago now, stuck it the bedroom as at the time i shared it with my brother was laying in bed and after 5 mins all this smoke started coming out the back of it, it was from argos aswell :w00t:

Hate to be picky but i think at £250 its not bad, but its a pretty auwful brand so i would shop around and get one of the low end Samsungs ( B350 ) or Toshiba ( 615DB ) for a few quid more. Not sure how much they are now but i think Amazon was doing the Toshiba one at £275 the other day.
Bought this for my lads bedroom last week - nothing wrong with at all.

TV picture looks fine and PS3 looks superb.

Seems to be getting voted cold on the brand name - Argos now own both Bush and Alba brand names and I guess will be sticking the name on any budget LCD TV's they get hold of.
So judging this on the faulty TV you got from Currys back in the 90's doesn't make sense. - Will it be as reliable as a more expensive TV - I guess you get what you pay for, but like I said in the post the customer reviews looked good.
