Saw this today in a Phones 4 U store. Only useful for calls and texts but I'm sure some of you know technophobes out there who'd like this deal. You must buy £10 credit on Virgin to get the phone for £2.45 but you'd have needed to buy credit anyway.

Go Via quidco for £10 back, other cashback sites possibly apply too

even worth it to get and trade in against a contract phone deal

Can get £5 cash from CEX for it. http://www.cex.co.uk/search/index.php?stext=203&ispostback=1&mode=buy&refinecat=802

So that's a Virgin sim with £10 credit and you will technically be getting paid £2.55 to take it!!

Nothing misleading about it. The phone costs £2.45. Anybody buying a phone would have to put credit into it so they could use it

I have a Virgin thing where i pay £10 a month for 300 calls and 300 minutes on my sim card. My phone is knackered, therefore I need a new one. CLEARLY I do not need to put any credit into a new phone, as my existing sim card has the credit already in it.

Now ... re-read your very rude last sentence, and re-apply it.. to yourself.

If you looked closer, you would have seen that the only option to buy was a blue button that said "buy later" which takes you to a page saying that its out of stock and they can email you when its back in again. This was the case when i made my previous post.

if you actually read what it says, the handset price is subject to purchasing the airtime. this is because of network agreements between the store and the network meaning they are able to sell the phone for less if they bring in new connections. so 1) its not misleading because the handset IS £2,45 and it says so, the airtime is £10 and 2) if people didnt purchase new airtime and new connections, all the handsets would cost a lot more anyway.

Then you phone Virgin and ask them to move the credit to your other sim and the credit will be offset against your next bill.

Can somebody give me a bit of advice please

When you buu a phone from Phones4U and it comes with the £10 Top Up - they say that they have applied to the sim automatically but mine has no credit.
