Can't see anything coming close to the p9 lite at the same price point in a UK store.

Just sounds like a mediocre everyday phone to me, and I'm certainly no expert.
How much ram, and how much storage, Android 5, 6, or 7?

Did anyone else read it as Alcatel Sh*te line?

Mediatek MT6737, 2GB RAM, 16GB, 2465mah battery, Marshmallow.

Better phones at this price point imo.

I agree but the problem is finding them. Lowest online price I could find Is £160 (Vodafone) including compulsory top ups. Looked at both of these last week - preferred the look and feel of the p9 - but the Shine specs aren't bad for £130

What's the P9 lite camera like? I love the camera on my LG G2. Does it have OIS like the G2?

I love the hardware and build if this phone BUT for me the specs don't justify the price point.
5 inch screen
2gb ram
16gb memory
Android marshmallow
Poor battery
Average processor

For this price you can get the p9 lite which would be way better.
Also hate to say this op but don't think it's much of an upgrade to your s5, infcact I think it performs worse on antutu and geeekbench tests.
For not much more you could get a honor 7 or z3 second hand.
If your open to importing then redmi 3s/4/note 3 all have better specs
Even the zte axon 7 mini
The Alcatel idol 4 was down to 160 and have better specs + the VR headset

.... It's a shame as I like this phone just can't justify getting it at that price point for what it offers

There is finger scanner.
After 4 hours of use calls, browsing, Imo, snapchat, YouTube, etc

Call sound - good
Music Sound - Excellent and loud
Selfie camera - very good in low light (close to S7 edge), better than p9
Battery - very good

Any other info will be reported later use.

which store cos most seem to be £189 plus on PAYG

To be honest, P9 Lite has far better specs.
My wife I have been to the Carphone Warehouse store and compared all display phones (selfie camera) and found that the Samsung S7 edge has the best camera but too expensive. So the closest best selfie camera we found is the Alcatel Shine Lite.

If you want to buy this phone for gaming I do not recommend, some lags but for normal use I recommend.

Low res, small screen, 2gb standard ram size, Moto g is way better value when available at £79

Motorola's customer 'service' is abysmal. 5 inches is hardly a small screen. The Moto G Play - which I assume you're referring to - also has a 5 inch screen.

Yes but much cheaper, the shine based on specs, should be much closer to £79.99

Do not buy EE or 3 pay as you go as you cannot return within 14 days. See car phone warehouse returns policy.

I do agree that the shine would be better priced at about £100.

Build quality is significantly better on the Shine though, and the Moto G4 Play only includes 1GB RAM.

I would offload the G2 to your local museum and pick up something a bit more modern, it doesn't have ois but it will be a breath of fresh air compared to that old dinosaur!

Thanks - saw that but not really after 5.5. I ordered the 3s prime yesterday from the same Aliexpress seller but might need another one in the next month or so - so keeping an eye out for a second phone offer. If I'm pleased with the Redmi might get another.

I think one big thing missed out in this thread is that the handset only version of the Alcatel shine has adaptable storage activated which non of the above phones mentioned have... This means that you can use your SD card as internal storage for apps and stuff. Or external storage like most other phones.

Thought I would mention this because it's a big feature of Android that most company's deactivate on their phones and this may be the decider for some when considering buying this phone.
