my sorta price for a phone
hopefully Alcatel about to release the uber compact Alcatel pop fit handset ..
some of us fitness fanatics are loathe to carry around large 5" screen phones to record out performance metrics when handsets like the compact peria ST15 will do the job albeit slowly

Reduced from 25 quid? Probably not worth 18 then either

Give Over! I use an old android phone I have to play music to my soundbar via Bluetooth.. The music is cheap on the Google store and the movies. This is an absolute bargain considering what it can be used for.
Its not a supported ChromeCast device so no it wouldn't be able to control it... But yeah most phones right now are not supported by chromecast officially. You have to root and install a app made by a dev on XDA forums...

Theres a list of rooted handsets that work with chromecast :)
Why won't it work with Chromecast? It's running Android 2.3, should be fine
The ram is shocking, will lag and won't be able to download loads of music games app as the phone simply hasn't enough storage I would even say it's ideal for a beginner more for a person who purely wants a phone to call and text.

only certain phones can connect to chromecast at the moment it's not compatible with all devices they have done it for more of the top phones I have samsung galaxy note 3 works fine with mine, there has been a recent update to chromecast so Google. It to find out the changes.

I bought one of these for £20 from Carphone Warehouse in December. I wouldn't recommend it even at that price.
This is a crappy Android device. Android OS needs loads of RAM (1 GB would be ok) to operate fine, where this rubbish has 256 MB. Even making simple tasks like checking the date while talking would cause the device to freeze.

I bought this in February, it's useless. The first thing it wants you to do is update the software and as soon as you do it complains you are out of memory and refuses to even show phone book due to insufficient storage. Gave it to my 7 year old son.

cpw are giving up to an extra £100 trade in for any android device. if and that's a big IF you were going to get a contract at cpw then they will give you £100 on a gift card if you buy an m8, z2 etc

I'm using a similar alcatel phone OT-983 but the main difference is 1/2GB of main memory not 256MB. However I would of thought 256MB was a usable amount. You need something like 'link2sd' to increase phone memory though. I use 2GB of my 8GB card as a phone memory extension. I've still got about 100MB free of my 160MB phone memory thanks to link2sd despite a huge number of installed applications on my phone. Like many though I'm looking to upgrade to something like a Moto G when I see a good deal.
great price, but the lack of memory is a let down - the main purpose of an android phone is to install apps, and with such a small amount of storage, that's going to be difficult.
I bought this phone back in September 2013 from Carphone Warehouse for £70 + £10 top up. And what a waste of money that was! I wouldn't recommend it to anyone at all even at that low price. If you want it as a phone just for calling and texting, don't get it. All apps force close repeatedly throughout the day.
Shock horror. People Bought it & thought it was crap!
