Specs aren't too shabby for the price point, thanks op :)

processor looks fine...watch out for screen resolution tho...1024 x 600 ain't too great nowadays

don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking Aldi at all...in fact we shop their ALOT But I think you'd be better off spending either 20 quid more for something like the Argos refurb Nexus Gen 1. Full 12 month warranty and mine was basically brand new
#6
Can't knock the 3 year warranty at this price though

Had a laptop the same make. It was okay nothing special.

They sell these at Asda.

That's a great price for that kind of tablet. It will make a very nice little kindle machine. Having a high rez doesn't matter if it's a poor screen. I'm not saying this has that, just not all high rez screens have good screens.

For the price for a non-nerdy user, this will make a nice little device.

As for getting Argos refurbs, try reading other threads about tablet refurbs from them. Seems hit or miss if you get a good screen or not. Grade Bs especially!

Could This be the answer to the budget tab seekers

I have a feeling it might then the stream of requests for advice for a cheapo might end

Is this the same 7" Medion Lifetab that's supposed to be £77 at Asda?

don't know how this is hot.... all medion products are well known for poor build quality...

Voting cold purely because these cheap Android tablets are the bane of the Android platform. Seriously guys, spend the extra £30-40 a get yourself a Nexus 7. Even the 2012 model is better than this and you know it will get updates.

Purchase this and expect no updates, no support and for it to slow down within 3 months

no. this one is quad core

Not great spec bit the deal is with the 3 year warranty. If it was a bit cheaper I'd be tempted.
#23
isnt the specs on this better than galaxy tab 3?

maybe im tricked by the quad core processor

Some quad cores are not too great it doesn't state which one it is. The quad core in the huddle isnt that good and the dual core in the nook is better, not so sure about the one in the galaxy tab, I think Sammy may have boobed there. Have to agree median I've seen have been poor build quality.

Can't say about Medion tablets, but I've had a couple of their laptops and had no problems.

I don't agree with the comments about median build quality. I bought a median PC from aldi 5years ago and have had absolutely no problems with it. Great value for what I paid for it.

It's definitely Cortex A9 and running at 1.6GHz which leads me to speculate it's Rockchip RK3188

Yes.

For an idea of performance it shares most of it's specs with Pipo S1 Pro

Cheap but maybe not nasty by the look of it. Medion and Aldi are both decent brands, only snobs and the ignorant think otherwise. Can't see either of them selling rubbish. As a first tablet or for a child, I'd give it a go if on a tight budget. I wont expect it to perform like a first gen nexus 7 or better but i suspect for many folk they wont care. Hot

pay a further £20 and get an Asus memopad HD which blows the Samsung Tab 3 out of the water - CPU, screen, res, RAM, you name it!

not quite sure how you see paying £10 more for a 1GHz quad core is better than this with a 1.6GHz quad core. most of the rest of the spec is v similar

Rubbish, my Medion Computer is 7 years old, still going strong, no faults at all.

I had one for years, it worked fine and the warranty was worth it when the graphics card died. However, don't expect to ever upgrade it as the boxes are made to measure, the power supply will be just large enough to support whats in it and nothing more and the one I had had medion components in it, bespoke one offs so you could only use their drivers not the usual ones. At one point the CPU fan went (out of warranty) and I couldn't get it off the CPU for love nor money, it's like it was super glued on.

but it has a 3 year warranty? that is purely your opinion and judging by the fact a company is unlikely to give a 3 year warranty on a poorly built product, your opinion is probably wrong.

Medion is owned by Lenovo now.
3 year warranty from Aldi also makes a huge difference.
