I'm pretty sure the 3 yr warranty alone would cost you the same as this tablet in some shops! oO

The whole deal: the tablet, the 3yr guarantee, the lot, costs less than a measly 16GB apple tablet memory upgrade. Yikes!

How much better is this than the samsung galaxy tab 2 ?

great price.

this is the price tablets should be.

Medion are amazing.

I love Aldi

I will be queuing on Sunday for this and a bottle of Glen Orrin

If you put KitKat on this would it invalidate the warranty?

Buy both, then use both over two months to evaluate which one is better on how you use them that is specific to your personal circumstance. Then sell the less good one on eBAY or Gumtree or newsagent window if you don't need two tablets.

Our issues really begin with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 when you move beyond its conservative external design, though. Powering the tablet is a dual-core 1.2GHz Marvell Armada PXA986 CPU. Hardly a cutting edge component, and certainly well off the pace of the quad-core chips found in both generations of Nexus 7.

that's just a run of the mill dual core with 512mb ram. every second tablet has that spec for that kind of money.

would rather spend the extra £20 for something that will at least perform half decently, and that 3 year warranty is the icing.

Big thumbs up from me for the Tesco HUDL.... don't get me wrong I love ALDI and LIDL.... but this cheap for good reasons....

I have a 2012 Nexus 7 and got HUDLs for my daughters.... I personally feel the Hudl is comparable... if not better.

in the case of the HUDL versus the Median... the HUDL a better screen resolution and pixels per inch. It has removable storage and comes with double the amount of onboard storage (16gb). The cameras are better too. it's well supported, well made and has plenty of accessory options. I really do feel it is worth paying the extra... not forgetting if you have Tesco points you can double them and get it half price.

HDMI Connection?

HDMI Connection?

The HUDL definitely does HDMI out..

Also I agree with the other comment about the LIDL tablet being better overall, but thee HUDL in my opinion is still better than both and is worth paying the extra for.

£40 extra though ? quite a bit for a similar spec tablet.

Had another look at the Lidl one I'd definitely not go for that one either.

On the HUDL it's the screen:
Screen Resolution (pixels) 1440 × 900 HD
Screen Type IPS LCD SCREEN

That makes the extra worthwhile

If you could get a 1.5ltr Ferrari and pit it against a 1.6ltr Ford Focus which would you place your money on winning in a race? :)

It would help if the Medion processor was known, but in real word tests the difference will be negligible, if anything the general hardware configuration and optimisation of the operating system will make all the difference. The HUDL is easily as responsive as my 2012 Nexus 7.

The Hudl is out of stock for the foreseeable future and according to an Email I had from Tesco, will only be available by visiting a Tesco Extra not online.

Fair point, but I'd guess this might be out of stock about 10 minutes after Aldi's open on Sunday ;)

Slightly worrying is the claim of Long Battery Life on voice over whilst on screen it says 'Upto 4 Hours'
#71
It's also very similar to this one sold in Germany during October, although the processor is different... http://www.markensysteme.de/aldi/medion-lifetab-e7312-md98488-tablet-pc-wlan/0012642/
