2.5kg of Maris Piper potatoes for 59p is excellent.
The last lot I had from Aldi (2kg for 49p) had a superb taste.
Heat added.

This month we will mostly be eating cabbage, cauliflower and clementines in my house. It's like an episode of Sesame Street - brought to you by the letter C!

I'll pass on the brussels sprouts - yeeeuuurghh!!!

Just back from Aldi and bought the cabbage, cauliflower and potatoes,it shows you how much profit Asda,Tesco etc..must be making if Aldi can sell veg at these prices.

Doesn't it just, so much for " every little bit helps " .. it just helps Tesco rack up huge profits.

The major supermarkets have far higher costs in terms of advertising and their location. If they didn't advertise so heavily and existed in cheaper locations then their products may be cheaper. Fortunately for those of us that aren't taken in by it all we can buy products at a decent price.

Personally I think that Asda/Tesco produce look better and last longer. However, of course that doesn't mean that they taste better.

I have to disagree. Sainsburys and morrisons veg tends to last longer than the rest. Tesco, aldi and lidl seem to be much of a muchness, asda on the other hand seem to be the worst by a stretch.

I like aldi, unfortunately living in basingstoke the nearest is about 15 miles away. Their don simon orange juice is way better than the better known branded juice and their selection of german foods suits my pallet.

Savoy cabbage btw is great for mums suffering pain in the first few weeks of breastfeeding, at 29p its even better.

Our Asda fruit and veg seems to last ages. Our local tesco is dire but then it's fairly small and rural so perhaps doesn't get as regular deliveries as a big store.

great deal, got me a pack of satsumas and 3 lots of tatoes. voted hot.

our local tesco runs out of fruit by midday, also their prices are completely mad. Thank god that the likes of lidl and aldi are about otherwise Tesco would be helping themselves to more of our hard earned cash.
