each to his/her own i find Tesco peaches/nectarines don't ripen and the outside shrivels up whilst the inside is still rock hard

You get good and bad fruit and veg from all the supermarkets its just about using common sense and picking items that look, feel, smell the freshest. But Aldi and Lidl are cheaper most of the time so we get ours fron there. Usually the big 4 try to match or undercut them at Xmas, Easter etc but throughout the year you pay more and it just isn't worth it.

They aren't no, but not far off.

ASDA are by far the worst. Overpriced, small, and usually half rotten or lifeless.

I got small oranges once from aldi, from the outside they looked fine but when you opened them they looked like they were old and tasted as much. plus they lasted for like couple of days.
I think I gave them another chance later on something else and had the same experience.

so I just decided to get stuff from my local tesco and most of the time they have offers on so it makes it cheaper

Looked very unappealing instore today.

Aldi seems to be the only supermarket that doesn't put 'best before' dates on their fruit and veg.

I prefer a nice firm pear, but not flat ones.

Actually they have started putting best before dates on some bags. I must admit not all bags but they have started

flat peaches?...

Think of a peach that looks squashed but it's been grown naturally that way. If they are ripe they are lovely. Look it up on Google Images

They tend to put whatever number of week it is...maybe this is week 29 ?
