That sounds odd, as cucumbers are currently 69p, and little gem lettuce is around the same.

Seems expensive to me. 99p for celery and cucumbers is a rip off?

Every time I visit Aldi its just a pure disappointment.
Anyone who could visit Aldi without using any other shops must eat an extremely boring diet.

You can buy fruit and veg in any supermarket and a much better selection in all the major supermarkets.
Your lucky if you can find anything other than potatoes, carrots and onions in Aldi.

Eh? Our local one is always fully stocked with shed loads of variety. Aldi is always much cheaper than other supermarkets and pretty good quality. Their strawberry's are always tasteless but that's the only thing I don't buy from there.

Yes, the Spanish and other non-British straws are woody and tasteless, but now our own are coming into season, so check the Country of Origin before buying.

Got some Scottish strawberrys from Aldi yesterday. They were the bet strawberrys ive had in ages - really sweet and juicy.

Even British Strawberries can be tasteless...growers always go for yield and looks per plant, taste come last I'm afraid.Varieties to avoid are Elsanta and Sonata, both look lovely but are poor on taste.

Strawberries are 69p for a 400g punnet.
In our Aldi it show as 99p a pack on the advertising boards, but the packs themselves have 69p on them.
Bought two packs.

Very cheap, but are they British or tasteless foreign rubbish?

I just got back from Aldi - there was a pallet load of strawberries that were all very mouldy, completely furred up!

I was able to dig a bit deeper into another pallet further up the shop and find some good ones but I reckon they'll 'turn' pretty quick. They were 99p.

Cherries were good value at 69p for a small pack. And the ice gem lettuces are fantastic value and very tasty :p

I had the same experience in Aldi Seven Kings. They had pallets of these (outside the refrigerated area) and most of them were soggy or mouldy. Needless to say I did buy any as the Tesco offer of 800g for £2.50 is better as they are also British strawberries.

I fail to understand why they decided to get all of the Strawberries in the non-refrigerated area as that will speeden up the decay. I hardly saw anybody buying these.
