You have to be so careful with this Aldi stuff....I think they buy veg that is grade c or something.

I've seen parsnips and potatoes that are already on the turn in the past and today they had some cucumbers that were well past there sell by date on the shelf. Soft bits, rotten bits...not nice at all.

Your right, but most of the time if you sift through the rotten bags you can find a decent one.

Aldi fruit and Veg still p1sses all over Tesco's

everything except tomato is alright. I wouldn't touch artificially ripened tomatoes with a barge pole. even the vine tomato in supermarkets are showing signs of artificial ripening now.

If I were you, I would have brought this to the attention of the store manager.

Maybe I'm lucky, but the produce in my local Aldi always seems top quality, and I'm sure the manager would immediately remove any out of date products from the shelf be was informed of and revise processes & procedures to reduce the risk of such a failure in future.
But then the manager & staff at my local Aldi are extremely hard working and conscientious...the shop closes at about 7pm but I've known the manager to still be there at 11pm checking existing stock, ordering replacement stock, restacking shelves etc.

The only downside is that what used to be a nice quiet shop that I could quickly nip in & out of is now generally a very busy shop used by an increasing number of customers. They've even recently had an extension to the store completed to accommodate more stock.

Not in my Aldi - or any other branch I've been to - I buy tons of their stuff and it's far better quality than my local Asda.

Well, as those of you that shop in Aldi know, the veg does not actually have a 'sell by' date on. (why is that?)
I was just using that as a figure of speech for not of useable quality.

I do buy a lot of veg there and 'most' of it is good but as I said, you need to look to make sure it is o.k.

I can't ever remember buying a pack of veg from any supermarket where the veg has already been off but can remember the 3 instances above from just the last few months in Aldi.

I did take some bread back to Morrisons that went mouldy before the use by date last year.

This has been from Aldi in Crewe, Cheshire store by the way.

I think the only problem I've ever had with Aldi fruit and veg was Kiwi fruit that never ripen.
