I can't say for this product, but if you are are factoring in the 3 year warranty as part of the bargain then check the details. Aldi stuff often has to be sent back at your own cost to whatever foreign country it came from.

Review on the site isn't very encouraging.

Well molded casing , key chuck it is not as convenient as a the key less chuck (the problem with key less chucks they do not grip the drill bit so under pressure the bit slips to the back of the chuck damages the screw thad holds the chuck to the aramature shaft and the chuck then can not be replaced. Chinese steel chucks seem to be brittle and fracture like cast iron), speed regulator trigger does not gave a positive feel to it and the low speed end is lumpy, the trigger lock button is flush with the drill casing and hard to engage with one hand. I can not comment on the reverse action. after a duty cycle of 5 minutes with a circular wire brush air vented seemed excessivley hot, next day drilled 8 pop rivets holes and motor stoped, total service time less than 10 minutes. Cooling fan turned when rotating the chuck, fuse in plug ok. wriggled cord from plug top to drill grommet still motor would not run. I have exchanged it for the same model just to see if the one I purchased was a Friday afternoon job. No issue with aldi in store exchange process. Not impressd with the on the box service help line telephone number looks like a 0800 free phone number but has the prefix 00 0800 which from a Virgin landline could work out to be a costly telephone call routed to Germany.

£19.99 is not exactly a great price anyway. While lower wattage you can get a very well reviewed drill at Argos for £13.99 with the same feature set. 10 minute lifespan is not my idea of a good quality product. The picture on the Aldi site looks like a very cheap and nasty drill.

Iv'e had two pressure washers under the 3 year warranty replaced,One had a week left on warranty they sent a new model one without asking for the old one sending back both times.

I bought one of these when the offer begun a few weeks back, I got it home and was greeted with the drill bit oscillating, it wasn't spinning true.

I took it back and got a refund. I went and bought the SDS Titan at Screwfix for £50. Different type of hammer drill, as it's around 5-6kg, and obviously an extra £30, but it spins straight and I've already put the chisels in hammer mode to good use. Great drill so far, but how reliable it will be can only be waited to be seen. Going by the experiences of others though they are as tough as old boots.

So many negative reviews. This may be ok to drill a couple of wonky holes but nothing more.
Good effort linhand but poor quality. Shame as Aldi do have so good too bits sometimes.

You seem like a person that needs to spend £150 on a drill that you are going to use to put up one shelf, you get what you pay for. I would buy this of the opinion use it for as long as possible but when it's dead it's dead.
I've had a few power tools from them and not had one problem so I'll keep buying and not worry about one persons bad experience.
