Looks a cracking bike for the price. None in the edinburgh store, unfortunately.

those same arguments apply to pedestrians. are you suggesting that we do away with zebra crossings etc too?

Licence not required by law
Insurance not required by law
Road Tax does not exist so no one pays it. Even some cars are zero VED.
If the bike is not roadworthy then the person riding it is at risk of injury. If a car is not roadworthy then the driver is still protected by a metal shell plus seatbelt and airbag but all those vulnerable people (pedestrians and cyclists included) are not.

Really good price, Alfine hub bikes tend to be pretty pricy.
The original price is good so this sale price makes this hot.
Worth checking out their other bikes, quite a few offers.

Without cars there is no need for roads, the Gov rake in so much in motoring related tax it pays for a lot more than just roads so to call it road tax is something of the past. I do think the roads are for the benefit of everyone and should make better facilities for cyclist.

Roads were built for bicycles before cars were even on the scene. It's true that if there were no motorised vehicles then we would not need the roads to be so large.

Motoring related tax does not pay for that much when you take into account how much it costs to support the entire road network, plus emergency services to enforce driving laws and rescue people who crash, plus the costs to the environment from emissions and people getting fat from using their cars too much. If you take into account all the external costs then motorists are subsidised.
