With two cuts of each movie and over 60 hours of extras, this Blu-ray box set is the definitive edition of the legendary xenomorphic saga, with stunning HD transfers that finally give these seminal sci-fi classics the treatment they deserve. So, what are you waiting for? Secure that box set, Hudson!

Titles Comprise:

Alien: The terror begins when the crew of the spaceship Nostromo investigates a transmission from a desolate planet and makes a horrifying discovery, a life form that breeds within a human host. Now the crew must fight not only for its own survival, but for the survival of all mankind.

Aliens: Sigourney Weaver returns as Ripley, the only survivor from mankind's first encounter with the monstrous Alien. Her account of the Alien and the fate of her crew are received with skepticism, until the mysterious disappearance of colonists on LV-426 lead her to join a team of high-tech colonial marines sent in to investigate...

Alien 3: Lt. Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) is the lone survivor when her crippled spaceship crash lands on Fiorina 161, a bleak wasteland inhabited by former inmates of the planet's maximum security prison. Ripley's fears that an Alien was aboard her craft are confirmed when the mutilated bodies of ex-cons begin to mount. Without weapons or modern technology of any kind, Ripley must lead the men into battle against the terrifying creature. And soon she discovers a horrifying fact about her link with the Alien, a realisation that may compel Ripley to try destroying not only the horrific creature, but herself as well.

Alien Resurrection: Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) died fighting the perfect predator. Two hundred years and eight horrific experiments later, she's back. A group of scientists have cloned her, along with the alien queen inside her, hoping to breed the ultimate weapon. But the resurrected Ripley is full of surprises for her "creators", as are the aliens. And soon, a lot more than "all hell" breaks loose! To combat the creatures, Ripley must team up with a band of smugglers, including a mechanic named Call (Winona Ryder), who holds more than a few surprises of her own.

how LOW can you GO
#11
ah well, the kids can have cabbage soup again for a week. ordered thanks
#12
Thanks OP just ordered this. I think between Play and Zavvi over the past 3 weeks through discount codes I have spent upwards of £200 on blu rays which I am quite certain I won't get round to watching anytime soon lol.
#13
OK, £20 is just too tempting & close enough to the £15 I was hoping it would go for me to get it right now, I'm in, thanks guys.
#14
I think you have to use the voucher code 'BLUFEB' which was listed on an earlier thread for play.com earlier today

I watched the directors cut of alien earlier tonight from this boxset which I purchased from amazon a week ago and the transfer is decent. I'm watching the extras for alien at the moment and there is a lot of extra content (started watching it at 11pm and it's now 2am so god knows how much more there is to watch) recommend this to any fan of the films.
#15
60 hours of extras? no thanks...

21 quid is a fair price but im happy to wait for £15.
#16
Shame you can't get 'Aliens' in blu-ray format by its-self really, shame!
#17
Thank you!
#18
This deal should be expired as listed in the main play.com 25% off blu thread that was listed 5 hours before this one was
#19
Still slightly too expensive - don't care about the 60 hours of extras.
Alien was very good, Aliens is definitely the best, Alien 3 was good but trying to follow Aliens was near enough impossible anyway. Alien Resurrection I didn't enjoy at all.
Will buy this when it hits the £15 mark.

dam you play.com, i brought this yesterday when at £39.99 with 25% off thought got a bargain :(
oh well, you win some, you lose some.
#25
was about to order untill I saw the quality review. 1 and 2 is suposed to be very good quality where as 3 and 4 arent as good, like they only consentrated on improving the 2 best films of the Alien series so think I will wait till its £15 area.
#26
bah! forgot quidco too.
#27
Has anyone that purchased at the £20.99 price point received a dispatch e-mail yet? I ordered at just before 6pm last evening, quite literally as the price dropped, but have yet to receive the dispatch notice. :-(

Starting to suspect they aren't going to honour this price. :(

mine now says packing so fingers crossed

Mine's been saying that since about ten minutes after I 'Purchased' it. Packing only means they've acknowledged your order. The order is only official when they dispatch it .. .. Which is why I'm still worried, 24+ Hours and still no Dispatch e-mail. :-(

Mine moved straight to packing and is still stuck there. Maybe they have run out of washing machine sized boxes to ship them in...

Mine has been in packing since I placed the order (almost immeadiately cos I was going to cancel & reorder with Quidco).
Well it's up to Play, if they won't sell at this price then no sale, I'm not buying & I'll go back to my original plan of waiting for it to get to £15 or so (and next time I'll remember the Quidco).
#32
Panic over! Mine was dispatched this afternoon. Got me fingers crossed that it'll arrive before the weekend, though there's more chance of Ripley appearing in the new Alien prequel than there is of Play delivering something in the same week it was ordered! X)

Yayh! Dispatch notice tonight, happy days

Unless they throw in some horrible back story involving Ripley being a clone of her former self?
I can't think of a single performer that could replace Weaver (or Ripley).

Wish the third had been perfect, but I'm willing to try the director's cut. Unfortunately, not only does Ron Perlman make me feel sick, but I can never watch the 4th film again, no matter how 'high' the definition or quality is.

Well for what it's worth I found the DC of the 3rd film a vast improvement, I think it flows much better and makes far more sense.

Once AGAIN my apologies, mods why delete this?!

The original post needs to make the voucher code clearer, if not now then in future on this deal.
