I say we take off and heat this deal from orbit, it's the only way to be sure.

All right, sweethearts, what are you waiting for? Breakfast in bed? Another glorious day in the Corps! A day in the Marine Corps is like a day on the farm. Every meal's a banquet! Every paycheck a fortune! Every formation a parade! I LOVE the Corps!

thank you, ordered, I think they took payment straight away

i'm sure this game has been on the release date list for about 3 years and keeps getting pushed back to a later date lol

I want this to go smooth, and by the numbers.

Can't wait for this game. Looks great.

You know what? I reckon this game is going to totally suck, laggy, bug ridden (no pun intended), stacks of patches and crappy online. I love Aliens games but remember the drool I wasted over the new Duke Nukem, now comes free with ANY purchase from Aldi!

Gearbox only finished off Duke Nukem, I wouldn't judge every other Gearbox game based on that because every other game of theirs has been great.

"Stop Ya Grinnin and Drop Ya Linnin"...Looks like this game might finally get released.

Am I missing something, where does it say it's limited edition?

Had this pre-ordered about 3 years ago, cancelled it as date kept slipping.

The April 2008 Edition of the Official Playstation Mag had Aliens Colonial Marines on the front cover and a 8 page spread inside. Its still in my cuboard somewhere - think I might dig it out again and start to get excited..

You can remember the exact magazine edition and number of pages in the article. That's impressive. Though less impressive that you can't remember the exact location of the magazine. :D

As is the way nowadays, all pre-orders are limited edition. It's just a couple of unlocks in the form of skins/weapons

Good price, although I'm holding out for a good price on the WiiU version. Apparently has the best graphics and the WiiU control pad doubling up as the radar scanner should be amazing!

I remember this being on the upcoming release list when I worked for Game in 2002!! 10 Years or so later and we might actually get the game I wanted back then. Fingers crossed it delivers.

that does sound interesting! (surely the pc will have the best eyecandy however?)

I wonder if it will support smartglass (MS equivalent to the wiiu controller)

hot for the price but gonna hold off for now, xcom to be my next purchase and as others i want to make sure it actually DOES release when it says.

My thoughts this game seems to be heavily focused on multiplayer much more than an expected 5-6 hrs SP campaign. It would probably suck on PS3 as usual where developers spend less time tweaking the code for. I have both consoles anyway but prefer PS3 for free MP, better wait for reviews to decide, if it hits average 80% then is probably worth it.

Saw this being pushed at the last MCM expo in june, lots of hype.
Might be a playable demo at the next one at the end of the month.

I'd love this to be the great game it should be, but sadly I fear we have a bit of a "Prometheus" on our hands.

The last decent alien game was the original 2000 AvP, a sad state of affairs indeed.

In fairness after revisiting the original AvP (with the same view as you - I loved it!) it's dated quite a bit - AvP 2; a game I hated when it came out has actually aged really well in comparison and actually captures the 'feel' of being a colonial marine a lot more - it's also got a lot of inspiration from the comics which were always great pulpy affairs.

I enjoyed the recent AvP on the PS3, but then I only paid a fiver from a boot sale.
Had I paid full price I'd have been disappointed.

The Alien Trilogy game on the original Playstation was brilliant and I really liked the side scrolling Aliens arcade game too.

Will be £15 in a few months judging from some of the first playthroughs(at least from the journalists who don't have their wages paid by the big publishers)

Used to love the old AVP game. Remember having to upgrade my PowerVR 3d apocolypse card for a voodoo3 2000 (which was the best card I've ever owned), game scared the crap out of me.

AvP2 was awesome. I remember sitting up with a couple of mates, taking illicit substances and absolutely shi**ing ourselves for hours. I think one of em might even started crying.

They have decent reviews but will take payment up front, swings and roundabouts I guess.

Ah yeah, meant to say of the consoles, obviously the PC will be the best looking if you have a rig to do it justice of course.

I'm just about to start XCOM myself ;)

Alien3 on megadrive was a classic, also had the gamegear version then AvP on PC (original), AvP on Atari Jaguar (didn't own it but spent hours in Rumbelows playing it), Alien Trilogy on Saturn, Alien Trilogy on Playstation, Alien Resurrection on PS then finally AvP on PS3 (got it for £5 from Morrisons - bargain).

Hmmm - I think you are wearing rose-tinted specs tbh. It was an okay game, but repetitive - and the end of level boss alien for every level was exactly the same - it didn't even get harder to kill.

Maevoric - AvP and DOOM were the reasons I bought an Atari Jaguar :) Unfortunately AvP was practically barren (they called it "atmospheric" due to the lack of any enemies IIRC). If you played it for hours in Rumbelows, the chances are you finished it. Just as well because it cost something silly like £60 too.

Looking forward to this, but I may wait and see... buy it after release

Tenji, what about Tempest 2000? £60 for games sounds about right, silly money really especially as the cartridges held about 6MB (AVP was about 4MB), around £10 a MegaByte!

As said earlier, all pre-orders are the LE unless you buy the collector's edition :)
