In the tradition of bringing together science and beauty, the Jawbone 2 is 50% smaller than the original, and includes "Noise Assassin" technology, a followup on the noise canceling technology of the original.

There's a faster processor on board to handle heavier signal processing duties for canceling out ambient noises better and faster, along with that Voice Activity Sensor which lets the Jawbone know when you're talking so the rest of the time can be noise free. A new fast charge battery can suck up 80% of its capacity in 30 minutes.

Noise Shield:
You can't always control your environment, but with Jawbone you can outsmart it. Each Jawbone headset incorporates their patented Noise Shield technology; two independent microphones and an additional voice activity sensor constantly analyse your audio environment. This information is relayed to the Jawbones processor, with its patented audio subtraction algorithm, monitors and adjusts all audio over 380 times a second. The result? Virtually no noise, where ever you are, no matter how noisy.

Smart:
Jawbone achieves its high level of performance by continuously collecting large amounts of acoustic information to enhance your audio. Jawbone constantly adapts according to your surrounds, allowing you to hear your caller better by boosting the frequencies that increase voice intelligibility.

Volume Leveling:
Not only does Jawbone virtually eliminate all background noise, but as your surroundings change, it seamlessly adjusts your speaker volume so you can hear your callers voice. The result is a clear, uninterrupted conversation.

Designed to perform:
Designed by the renowned Yves Behar, Jawbone takes mobile style and technology to new heights. Jawbones perforated shield curves to match the outlines of your face while the inside surface is made from medial grade plastic to provide a soft and smooth feel on the skin. Adaptable to either ear and supplied with a personal fitting kit, comprising of multiple ear loops and buds to ensure a precise, comfortable tailored fit whenever you wear your Jawbone.

Small stature, big in performance:
Noise Shield, the technology behind Jawbone was originally developed for DARPA (Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency) to optimise the clarity of communications, even in the most hostile and rugged environments. This same technology is now available in each Jawbone headset.
Jawbone 2 Bluetooth Headset Specification:

anyone got one of these?

They seemed to be a pricey fashion accessory when they were £80, but this seems more reasonable I've gone through two jabra's, one bluespoon and a celeste when it comes to bluetooth headsets, all are either poorly made or unreliable.
#3
Hot hot hot
#4
I have had one of these for over a year , using it with my PS3 for voicechat and it is the best bluetooth i have ever seen or used , very well made and sound quality to die for , it uses military grade noise cancellation technology so it blocks out most of teh background noise. It was voted top headset on the gadget show last year. Hot deal !!!!!!!!
#5
I suspect this is low as the successor to this has come out:

Also looks like for £15 more, 40%ish? You can get the new Prime model, which looks like it works without an earloop, does this Jawbone two work without an earloop?
#7
Where can you get a prime for £50 then at retail UK?
#8
It not £15 more for the Jawbone PRIME. They cost £89.99 ;-)
#9
Fleabay.... for the £50ish prime, not retail unfortunately... unfair comparison I know but I wanted to see :)
#10
Nice headset for the price. I don't think you have to use the over the ear loop if you don't want to. The picture of the model shows her wearing it without the hoop.

I'll hold off till it is £17.99 on Play ;) But H&R as a good deal if I didn't have a decent Plantronics headset.
#11
You can pick up this model on eBay at a similar price(new).

Shame this doesn't have multipoint!

Lol! Rep for such a funny link! Never seen that before! Go and give my house a clean and make my dinner too! :-D

that google link was crap. if you're going to use "Let me google that for you" at least make it search for the answer instead of a load of products that mention it. -1

This deal doesn't work - the free delivery code doesn't work. I am registered at that company and it stil doesnt work therefore it is expired until osmeone updates the subject to include the postage..

I'm pleased it annoyed you :-D

Incidentally, I think you'll find a few results on the first page that explain it perfectly!

Just in case you cant find one; it allows more than one phone to connect to it at the same time.

I haven't used the Jawbone II or Prime, but if anyone's looking at spending a lot on a bluetooth headset I can recommend the Joby Zivio. It's miles, miles better than any of the other headsets I've used... there's no clipping, no static and the noise elimination is excellent. Callers geniunely have no idea I'm in a car... some don't even realise I'm not on a landline. It looks a little odd but definitely worth every penny.

my mate got one of the jawbones when they came out. Went and stood by a busy roundabout and called me. couldn't hear ****. He then turned the noise assassin thing and it was amazing - could head everything he said it was crystal. Didn't know he was near a road - barely could hear he was outside.
#28
I have this and its a very good headset

Enormously... although it does look a little odd :)

I understand that the Jawbone II & Prime have had great reviews, but haven't used either so I can't comment on them. I have spoken to people who were using the original Jawbone and wasn't very impressed... as some of the reviews pointed out, the noise reduction resulted in a kind of artifical sound and a degree of clipping. I imagine the newer Jawbones are better though.

Another thing to add is that Joby's support is great. The first one I had wouldn't charge properly, so I had a long chat with a delightful lady at Joby, who arranged a replacement (sent from the States) which arrived in three days with a pre-paid padded envelope to return the defective one.

I used to have an ety.com wired headset, which consistently received excellent reviews for sound quality and noise reduction (second only the TheBoom wired headsets, which are really expensive). The Joby is as good, if not better.

Last thing before retiring for the evening :)

Some of the early Zivios had sound quality issues and some reviews may be based on those. Generally (and there are obviously exceptions) the reviews I've read prefer the Zivio to the Jawbone II. That said, if the Jawbone is £36 then the Zivio is forty quid more expensive... which is a lot of money so the Jawbone is a pretty hot deal regardless.

There's an interesting page on Engadget here...

http://www.engadget.com/2008/09/16/zivio-boom-hands-and-ears-on/

The review is pretty poor, but the 'user reviews' in the comments are very positive, glowing even.

Last comment... I am extremely fussy/demanding/intolerant and I love the Zivio :)
