The only problem with Currys is that they don't seem to carry a lot of games in stock and they all tend to be sold at there RRP but still a good deal if you can find what you want. Heat added

my son is looking at buying a WII with his B'day money so this will be good. Is it nationwide?

Help him not make one of the biggest mistakes of his young life. (untill you need to help him keep away from teenage parenthood and/or marriage) by tellin g him to get an xbox360 or ps3 instead.
#4
Hope it's online too.
#5
I assume this is at Currys stores only and not Currys.Digital stores?
#6
it might be at pc world and digital too but i don't know. weirdly it won't even be reflected in the ticket prces just at the till. should be some signs advertising the offer but nothing else. bit unusal as deals go.
#7
does this work with price matching?

does this work with price matching?

not really thats a different thing altogether. this is just a straight 10% of at the till system. no discount, it will scan at 10% less than regular ticket price.

Was in the Curry's Megastore at Thurrock Essex today and they have 20% off all console games already
#10
its hardware and games starting thursday nationwide. that 20% offer must just be that store i think though. check out what they're doing after thursday see if they are doing 20% off the 10% off price, could be some bargain times!

im tight as anything, i have held off getting the new slim line one as i have a 12 month old 80 gig in the front room, this new one will go in the bedroom as the phat version suits my sony set up down stairs which is all piano black finish.

dont need any more games for it so it is no loss i may even go to gamestation instead for the extra £1 back although there is only a blockbuster and game and cex in my town i may not bother going into exeter for the quid.

no doubt the ps3 will come down in price this summer as summer time is traditionally the slowest time of year for video games but at this price for what the console does, billy bargain.

now i must wait to get another tv for the dining room or do i just get my old tv back from my sister? im not buying another lcd tv just yet. the mrs will be suss when this arrives.
#17
Think you got in just in time there Brum. They've just shut up shop by the looks of it.
#18

If only i'd seen this before lunchtime today. Went in Curry's and spotted this deal, but was told it'd be 'in-store only' when asking about the 10% off being on the console bundles online, as would of got a nice bit of QuidCo etc. too ..should of seen the sales technique patter, to be honest, but ahh well.

Saying that though, the website doesn't appear to be showing the bundle I was after, including Mod Nation Racers with the 250GB; and I suppose the fact I managed to get nearly another £10 off after the 10% 'discount' price and a third-party PS3 blu ray remote thrown in too, kinda goes some way towards missing out on the QuidCo etc.

Damn my 40GB for bricking on me the other week!

Nice deal.. not spectacular, but still; heat added.
#22
the 120gb one with the world cup game is a great bargain £213 then 3 % quidco then get rid of the game for £24, i cant understand why this isnt hotter?

by far the cheapest way of getting a ps3 slimline brand new. most of the games in the packs you can pick up for uner £20 anyway so offing the world cup game and getting a decent game instead will be roughly the same price of £205 after quidco

why - i have a 360 and wii and both are good - wii is aimed at a whole range of ages (mainly <12's) whereas the 360 is aimed at teens/adults

Xbox LIVE Gold Membership 12 Month Subscription for £28.79 aint three bad...

Perhaps a little harsh. Despite a low level of quality games coming out for the Wii in recent months there has been a decent back catalogue built up in the past few years. Plus of course, Mario Galaxy 2 is out in two weeks...

If you live anywhere near Southampton then the new Best Buy opens tomorrow and some great deals if the openin of the Thurrock one was anything to go by.

If the son is under 8 the wii is much better. Anything over 12 and you MUST get him a 360/PS3, no matter what he says.

Besides, if he wants a wii, the PS3 has MOVE out in a few months and the 360 has NATAL, both FAR SUPERIOR to the wii's motion controller.

Show him the vids of 'Project Natal' and 'Playstation move' and then ask him if he wants a wii.
#29

Quite decent. But get the HDMI cable as well, as shown below.

You must have some great inside knowledge of the equipment surely best to wait and see if they live up to their potential.

You can't be stupid enough to take that as a reason for buying a console? They're both decent consoles. Arguably the 360 is living in the spotlight at the moment, and arguably the PS3 will have better titles in the near future but right now it's about exclusives. Go with whichever exclusives you find more enjoyable/desirable.

I have a 360 but I'm not going to tell you which console to get, it's all about preference, and paying for the online aspect has not put me off the 360 one bit. That's all I'll say on the matter, so please try to avoid all fanboy posts about this.

looks like you got very very lucky!!! I've been looking for a PS3 deal for months....the price is £224.99 with 10% already taken off. Can't even get 5% off anymore as it is not available for home delivery!! Gutted as this bundle was a steal at the price you got it!!

Xbox live is FAR BETTER than PSN, and if you shop right it's like £2.50 a month, worth paying for.

Plus the 360 has a lot more exclusives, and that's what counts.

I only have a PS3 for blu ray and the occasional Little big planet / Modnation game

Not really accurate. Early reports of the actual games for Playstation Move say it looks quite incredibly poor. Natal...looks much better through.
