Hope the up & coming days offer better prices than Monday, as those prices for Crysis and/or Warhead suck ass.

Just a rudamentary google shopping search comes up with much better prices.

Crysis £6.87 delivered

Warhead £6.85 delivered

Hoping for a good deal on BFBC2, I've wanted that one for a while!

If you had kept your eyes open, you would have seen Zavvi selling it for around £15.95 less than 2 weeks ago. I was going to order it from Amazon @ £22, but I kept my eye on Zavvi as their prices kept fluctuating. Finally got it ordered when it dipped for a full 24 hours.

Oh and the only good C&C game that came out was Generals / Zero Hour. The multiplayer was pretty awesome to play with friends I must say. Aside from EA's crusty servers causing issues now and then, it was by far the most enjoyable out of the franchise. Also, some of the mods were just plain amazing. I'm actually tempted to reinstall it again... if I can find the disks lol

I know that while the vast majority enjoyed it, if you are a MW2 fan you may find it quite disappointing. I haven't played it in months because for me it isn't as fun and can be horrendously buggy sometimes (I'm talking worse than IWNET!! :p)

Steam image

Nice work on the image, EA are great big sillies uploading them all. When Valve do offers on Steam they always hide the pics :p

cheers for the heads up

Can the retail version of BFBC2 be attached to your Steam account or not?

I won't pay that price for a download.
I don't pay to download music either.
I actually want a physical item when I spend my money, and if you shop around, these games can be picked up for better or similar prices.
Voted cold!

Thanks for the heads up, i've wanted DA:O for a while but really wanted it on steam, deluxe edition for £15 looks good, still unsure what extras you get with the deluxe edition though, it looks to be 3 in-game items and wardens keep quest?

How long are the quests, if it's an hour extra content then going from £10 -> £15 for that seems poor, especially when i hear of people hitting 100 hours+ in this game.

this for xbox too?

No. Steam is a PC service with a bit of mac bolted on. No console stuff.

Aye. The Warden's Keep 'DLC' is only about an hour long, maybe two if you triple-check everything. In my opinion, its definitely not worth the extra cost, unless you really like the game. Personally, the game took my around 70-odd hours, doing all but one or two side-quests. Not a bad game, but 'something' was lacking.

My McNuggett of Wisdom is also whispering the possibility of a Game-of-the-Year edition coming at some point in the next few months that'll have the expansion and all the DLC.

I completely agree. I was shocked when I played Red Alert 3 as it was just C & C Generals with different units - but it felt stripped down to the bare bones down & nowhere near as good as the game that came out several years before it!!! Very sloppy EA...

I just wish you could get C & C Generals / Zero Hour as a legal digital download or Steam release as it deserves to be available far more than recent games in the series IMHO (I'm trying to do away with discs, they're SO last century lol).

Oddly enough that was the only one I couldn't get into. I much preferred Red Alert 2 myself - particularly with superweapons turned off!

Any ideas for the price of BFBC2 yet please?

Probably unknown until updated on steam - normally around 6pm GMT

Ahh that's why the servers I joined had SW disabled. Was a much more "gentleman's" game.

Plus, as I mentioned earlier, some of the mods were simply amazing. There was even a Vietnam mod which gave you chinooks and alsorts. Pretty sweet.

This game can be picked up on Play / Amazon for next to nothing anyway. *May* purchase again if I can't find my discs but I'm sure it's around here somewhere.

Definately one to play with friends online with. Either via the online tool, or Hamachi.
#23
Very warm. If i can pick up C&C, Mass effect and Bad company 2 for pretty cheap this week i will be well chuffed :D
#24
Presumably 'Racing' will be Need for Speed ?
#25
I paid less than £14 two or three weeks ago to get BFBC2... I wouldn't pay £20 to get a digital download that cannot be resold.
#26
Is anyone else wondering why those saying they don't like digital downloads have come into a deal about digital downloads to drop their opinion? :?
If you don't like it, why comment on this deal?? Let those that use steam and those looking for a good deal, enjoy it.

As for me, this is perfect timing as I was gonna get my brother Battlefield Bad Company 2 for his birthday.

I believe that you will find that your PC disk copy can't be resold either ...

Can be sold for single player, I believe, but yeah - not a great demand for that...

If you get BFBC2 on Steam, can you then use Valve's server browser and the Friends system? That would be far better than the DICE crap you have to use with a hard copy. If so, then if they knock BFBC2 down to £15 or less, I would strongly recommend getting it on Steam.

Nope you can't, because it isnt steamwork so no right clicking friend to join their game or steam server browser. You probably looking around 25% (If Steam is greedy) or 50%

HOPEFULLY when they do this deal they release Medal of Honor for preorder so i can get my beta and BFBC2 sniper as extra

That sucks. Although it reaffirms my decision to get it on DVD.

Though the Steam one doesnt have the Securom stuff - the DVD does.

Seems alright though as it doesn't install the kernel crap and it isn't too restrictive.

If anyone is worried you can find full details here:

Yeah... me again. I was wondering what price they were going to offer it at, and quite frankly - they could of done better. Like I mentioned in an earlier post, I got this from Zavvi for £15.95, free P&P. If Zavvi can reduce a physical copy and still get a profit from each sale, then this just spells out the the downloaded version is still far too expensive.

Let us not forget the whole reason why these stores first started coming about. People wanted a more affordable product without having to pay for all the overheads from a 'brick and mortar' store. To price match from the very beginning almost at RRP was a bad move. It should have always been at least 10-20% cheaper than those listed in the high street - which it never did.

I did miss the £14 offer that did the rounds a while back, which is why I waited and I'm glad I did. Not only do I have a physical copy which CAN be resold - CeX are offering (at the time of this post) £13, or £16 for exchange. I also have CoD4 which I have since uninstalled, and looking to sell which I'm looking at a minimum of £9. In effect this could mean I've only spent £6.95 for BC2.

Physical copy > Digital copy.

Then you get Steam fanboys who get angry when people come into "their" thread and ask "why are you here?". The simple answer is because we can. This is a deals website let us not forget. I already voted this hot because it is a GOOD deal. I still remain in flux about whether the price is justified seeing as it's still more expensive than physical copies.

If you're desperate for the game, and don't mind it being digital only - go for it.

if you can wait a little bit, and do your research, you could walk away with a physical copy much cheaper.

I think CEX will only buy PC games if they are sealed

I'll give them a ring in the morning and find out for sure

Following on from my previous post however, Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight is £29.99 on STEAM, but just £12.99 at Play.com. Yet another reason why they're disgustingly overpriced in the first place. After reading the reviews, I'll place a bet now that this game gets reduced by 50%.

BC2 should have been 50% instead of the 33% but I guess people will still pay this regardless.

Thanks for sharing... wish I'd known about this sooner. I don't really have time to go through 80+ pages, but there doesn't seem to be many PC users as I'd hoped.

No problem and yes there isnt im afraid :( most people seem to be PS3 or Xbox360 players which is a shame really.

I prefer playing the PC version because the skill level is alot higher and prefer the freedom of the mouse always is the case with mp FPS games.
