A poor substitute for a good diet. You do realise this doesn't differentiate between good and bad fats and lets go of EFA's too?
#2
I thought this site was about rating deals, IE this being £10 cheaper then everywhere else that stocks it. Didnt realse the site has now moved onto rating products.

This is a 'weight-loss' product isn't it? Well it's a bad value one when you add in the cost of adult diapers and new clothes when your bowels suddenly evacuate.
#4
Ah well, hopefully someone may find the price useful. Seems any thread about Alli brings out the trolls.
#5
Eat properly or pay for tablets that make you **** yourself, tough decision!

It is a good deal for those that want it I guess, but wouldn't a decent cookbook be a better deal? Still, as long as the fatties want a magic bullet cure with no effort on their part these guys are going to make a mint. Good on them.

Absolutely right - as soon as I saw this, I predicted the temperature would plummet, with loads of posts essentially saying, 'if you're a fat grob, you should just eat less' and the like.

Good for a laugh, though. :D

I actually voted hot, as its a good price.

I just think the product is for very weak willed people, because the alternative to this is remarkably simple and something most people are able to do easily - balance their diet and limit their intake. And the idea of willingly taking something that makes me crap my pants is a little disgusting!
#8
What about people who are "large boned" or have a fat gene. Does it help them?
#9
You will only crap your pants if you intake too much fat in to your system...
#10
Voted hot as this is a good deal who want to buy this type of product. Will not be buying it myself as I prefer to be a "fat grob" and copious amounts of Pedigree (the beer not the dog food) already ensure a swift digestive transit. My pall bearers are going to earn their money.

Very good deal..everyone has something to say about alli, but I know a few people who have used them along with training and they have lost a s**t load of weight (literally) lmao

Thumbs up from me...
#12
Stop eating. That will help a lot and it's save you money!
#13
voted hot, good price but product is bad! Lots of bad reviews and it makes you Sh!t oil out ur ar$e!
lol, but if thats your ting then go for it!

Not voting either way but this kind of thing really does prey on the vulnarable.

If you burn more calories than you are stuffing in your gob you will lose weight.... it aint rocket science.

@Tom, but some people have a fat gene or something, and some people are big-boned. It's not fair to say it's just down to calries in and out.

Fat gene? Love that - said once or twice in the press and then suddenly one an all go on about being the reason of them being overweight - its not even a proven fact - its a theory!

Question to those claiming the fat gene theory... Do you know the basic laws of physics? i.e. Energy. It cannot be created only transferred. Thus, you cannot make your own energy. This means you've eaten too much to put the extra weight on.

As for fat gene, I don't take it in for one second. It is simply a matter of science. One who existed on simply sugars and fatty foods for years has primed their body to take up food eaten as fat. When they eat, their digestive systems release insulin in large amounts and thus it is taken up as fat over energy. Remember insulin is the bodies fat storage hormone. You know when you secreting lots of it when you have a large meal and feel sleepy - most of us get this after roast. How many people have a sleep after a roast? Esp as they grow older - I know my dad does :)

This results in people saying I only eat one meal a day and so and so eats X number of meals and I'm still overweight and they aren't. One needs to train ones systems to digest and use energy in the way they need it to be.

Why? Because the body loves homoeostasis and if your bodies homoeostasis level is primed to be a certain weight because of your usual diet, it'll do what it can to stay at that weight. Hit it enough however to tell it needs to change (diet, exercise, weights etc) and it will then begin to shed the weight you are telling it to.

This product simply damages the way the body deals with fat and will not teach the user of the said drug how to eat better and will simply result in weight loss followed by gain when the user stops said drug.

HTH.

Actually they did just discover a virus that seems as if it might be responsible for some people turning their food into fat deposits more rapidly than others.

Plus, people who go through anorexia or bulemia can permanently screw up their metabolisms such that they put on weight and keep it on a lot faster than other people.

So it's not always as simple as calories-in / calories-out.

Oh really.... ok some proof of "this magic virus" is in order. If you go running for say an hour every day and eat sensibly you will not be fat in a years time.

If anyone can dis-prove that burning more calories than eating causes weight loss I would love to see that too.

Jeez, the excuses we hear for people. We see it all the time on documentaries, people saying "I'm big boned, I have the fat gene" ....all said whilst stuffing cake into their gobs.

If you're fat and you want to do something about it..... then do something about it. Sitting on the sofa watching Jeremy Kyle with a full english on your lap aint gonna ****ing help is it! Try taking a walk instead of driving everywhere.

Are you disputing one of the 3 main laws of physics then? oO

A viri that turns energy to fat stores? How my sides ache :D - do yourself a favour and read up about fat storage works in the body. For anyone who knows anything about fat and energy storage you'll realise what you are saying is bunkum.

FWIW you can't permanently screw up your metabolism thro food. You body like homoeostasis and will try to remain in the state it has become accustomed to. It will however become knocked out of this stasis with enough work.

As for anorexia or bulimia suffers. They don't put it on in a way that's different to anyone who has been devoid of food for large periods of time. Its hyper compensation of glycogen and salt stores to make up for the food stores it hasn't had - it puts fat down into the cells you laid as a child during puberty to help prevent starvation. Within days its possible to put on 1-2 stone in weight in water/glycogen/salt. Its simple biology of the body looking to prevent the body starving by hyper compensation based on the lack of food intake previously.

Eat than you need and you'll store the excess as fat, it really is as simple as that, no virus, no faulty metabolism. Now fat apologists, they're simple.

COLD From me!

Simple burn more than you eat!

aka get ones a**e off the chair!

Actually I do believe that some people can extract more energy from food than others, I have a very fast metabolism wheeas my GFs is very slow. If I eat sweetcorn I see it down the pan 4-6 hours later, with her it takes days. Surely if the food is in your stomach longer, you have more chance to process it?

I'm a skinny sod and eat anything I want, always have. She's slim too but really has to watch her intake, and is calorie counting every day. If we ate the same I know she's get fatter than me. Of course, she does the sensible thing and actually monitors her diet, rather than scoffing crisps while watching Trisha.

Well here you go folks... if proof be needed! Our friend here has done a scientific experiment under controlled conditions of eating sweetcorn and feeding it to his misses.... then just sitting around waiting to see who ****s it out first. ;)

The real question is not really about burning fat... the real question is why are people so gullible.

I presume you realise you are male and your misses female and that your have different metabolic rates as a result (down to your hormonal make up and hers) ?

She is a woman, her genes are designed to lay fat on hips/thighs for babies. She also needs to consume less calories as a result (remember women on avg are 20% smaller than men!). You are comparing apples and oranges!

Of course peoples digestive systems run at different rates due to age/sex but nothing other than energy in/energy out applies - you still have consume X amount of calories. The 3 rules of physics apply everywhere and the human body is nothing special in that respect.
#28
So you are saying that 100% of energy in food is always absorbed by every persons body that eats it? If so how does this tablet work exactly? It works by slowing the way the body breaks down fat forcing your body to **** out stuff before it is fully processed, if this can be induced surely it can also happen naturally? Its all down to enzymes in the digestive tract, does everyone have the same amount of enzymes? Do smaller people have less, as their digestive tract is smaller?

Don't get me wrong, I'm firmly in the "Stop eating pies, fatty" camp, but I don't believe everybody has exactly the same metabolism. I'd be happy to be proved wrong though, so any links appreciated.
#29
Well as explained we don't all have the same metabolism - between sexes and ages. But food taken in is food taken in. 100% if food is NOT taken in as we cannot digest it all and there will be small variances between people and what they absorb (hence things like IBS etc). However with a normally health person its largely the diet that is the problem.

This works by stopping the intestinal tract absorbing all fats, hence you can crap yourself with a nice orange goo.
#30
It doesn't actually stop it absorbing it, it stops it being broken down as much to ensure it is not fully digested after doing a full circuit. It does this by messing about with some enzyme in your intestine I think. Surely if you were deficient in this enzyme already, you would essentially be permanently on these tablets? Come to think of it when I eat certain foods, especially some curries, I do end up needing the bog pretty sharpish!

I know women who are just like me, can eat whatever and not put on weight, so not convinced its a sex thing. I'm still all for a balanced diet, but I still think your body makes a difference. Out of interest does height effect calories burnt from walking (short people need more steps)? I suppose technically being fat would mean you'd burn more calories climbing the stairs, as you have a massive ass to haul up too :)

Erm therefore not absorbing it? Digestion = absorbing.

Anyway I know my way around diet with fact (being that avi is me) rather than what I 'think' so I'm gonna leave it at that. Of course there are variances between people, i've already said as much. And you cannot compare people directly without comparing jobs, previous diet, activity levels etc. It may seem simple like that, but its not.

End of the day tho, you need to consume 3500 cals above your maintainence level to put on 1 pound of fat. These cals have to be consumed, so it is based on your food and drink intake. Every ones maintainence will be different to a degree but it DOES NOT take a scientist to see you are putting on fat.

I understand all of the hate for this product, but this deal is finished. Does anyone where is the cheapest at the moment for the 84 pack? (I do not need to be told about dieting and the like, I just want a price and a website!!)
