You must be over 21. You’ll need to pay at least £500 every month into your bank account (or fees may apply).

I'm pretty sure you can just pay the £500 in then move it to another account, just as long as it reaches your account monthly :whistling:

i took advantage of this deal back in June 2009, followed the rules to the letter. after 2 months of not receiving my £100 i phoned to enquire where the money was, they investigated, they recon im not entitled to the £100 but cant tell me why due to the data protection act.... what a joke of a bank. closed the account the following day.

I got £100 last time within a month......heat added

I got my money last time together with an extra £50 because they made such a b4lls up of everything!

Although after 6 months they've still never actually responded to my complaint. Just saw £50 appear in my account.

If you're a patient person then this is worth a go but otherwise I'd steer well clear.

possibly a way of avoiding the stupid new overdraft charges from HALIFAX ?

Transferred From Abbey And Still Got All The Money Last Time

I did this last time too and still waiting for my money!!! You have to put £500 in each month but can't do a faster payment out for more than £250, plus you can only make one transfer to the same account per day, plus if you forward date a payment they send it as a bacs and not a faster payment, plus if you make a faster payment to an account that you haven't transferred money to before they send it as a bacs....

There is no warning for any of this on their online banking system, you only find out when it's too late, hence I'm still up after midnight so I can do another faster payment before I go overdrawn in my main bank because they sent my faster payment as a bacs.

Their policies and their customer service are appalling. My OH also opened an account for the same deal, he didn't even sign the direct debit transfer form but they transferred all his direct debits anyway!!

silly question, if you do this does your old a/c get left as is but without the DD's? e.g. standing orders etc etc left where they are and account remains open?

You have the choice whether they close the old account or not. They'll move standing orders too if you want.
