Already have a current account with them so can't use it myself (have the direct one which pays better interest). Only for those willing to switch current account and have your direct debits moved over. Low interest rate of 1% AER on balances up to £2500 but after you recieve the cash, just switch it back. You have to use their switching service so if you plan on moving back to your existing bank, make sure you tell them not to close your existing account once the transfer is complete.

Not sure whether Quidco will work as in the small print at the bottom it says 'Other account opening incentives may be available, if you apply in a different way than through http://www.alliance-leicester.co.uk.'

Get £100 when you open a Premier Current Account online and move your banking using our free Premier Switching Service.

Get a great current account with added benefits for no monthly fee.

You'll need to pay at least £500 into your account each month.

You must be over 21.

Free annual multi-trip European travel insurance.

This offer isn't available if you already hold one of our current accounts.

If your application is successful, we will pay the £100 into your new Premier Current Account within 15 weeks of opening the account.

This offer is limited and depends on availability.

Wouldn't touch A&L with a 10ft barge pole till the Santander takeover is complete, there are massive changes on teh horizen seeing as they're getting merged with Abbey.
#4
i dount you will get the 100 and the 50 but its not bad for a current account to get £100 for free! and i believe that they have some good savings acc so its definately worth it.

#11

#12

I am closing my account with them within 2 weeks of opening!!!

Very dissatisfied with the response from the customer service.

To quote she said: "UNFORTUNATELY you are an existing A&L customer......"

Hi,

I'm the Affiliates Manager for A&L and run the £50 offer through Quidco.
A&L have paid out on all genuine sales and resolved all Cashback payouts that we've been made aware of.

This is a genuine offer and combined with Quidco CB, you'll get £150; £50 into your account from Quidco and then £100 into your Current Account from A&L. PLUS, if you recommend a friend, you could earn an extra £25 each… so that's a possible £175!

Thanks

Is this a wind up?!?!:whistling:

My wife is with A&L and thinks they are pretty good, to be honest i'm with the Abbey and they just suck...where i lived to before i could walk into a branch and they were good, then i moved and had to start using phone banking....jeeez that was the ppoint i had to start thinking about leaving, what a joke.:x

Anyhow i know A&L will be taken over by the Dark side, but i have decided to switch and give it a go...can't be any worse than dealing with Abbey....for now;-)

I have taken the plung, and filled out all the details for my work pay to be transfered and all my DD's from my old bank....

I am currently with First Direct..

I do have some early concerns...
Quidco has not tracked..
You have no free phone number to sort out issues and telephone banking????

With FD, I have a 0800 and a Geo number.. I will not be paying 084 or 087 prices to talk to the bank...

I will have to ride it out, gert the cashback, and if I don't like the service, go to another bank...
I assume that will be fine, it is great to offer £50 or £100 or even £150, but once we are over, the service must be up to scratch..

I am concerned about the ammount of people who are concerned about the service from A&L on this thread.

I used to have my mortgage with Abbey, and had no problems what so ever.. In fact, I would recommend then if asked, as they were great..

I also remember the counter woman counting my 10,000 in cash (old Ten pound notes) to pay some of the mortgage a while back.. It felt great seeing that chunk coming off my loan..

No problems with Abbey..

NOTE: This was before the spanish takeover.

To be fair, like with all things some people sail by without issues some are just doomed - i had a 4 year old Audi and it was briiliant never let me down, another guy i know had endless problems with a brand new one and sold it and moved to a BMW and has vowed never to have an Audi again...

Can't see this working as A&L site states:

We'll send an email to the person you've recommended explaining what they need to do to apply for an account. Once your friend opens their account using the link from our email and meets the funding requirements, we'll credit both your accounts with £25 within 8 weeks of account opening.

So if you use the link provided by A&L, how do you use teh link via Quidco. I'd rather use Quidco for £50 rather than A&L for £25.
#21
My £50 tracked now...received some of my details from A&L to..so far....so...
#22
Mine tracked too. I don't believe the post earlier that staes you can get £25 through friend recommendation and £50 through quidco as tracking is via the links so unless you try and ocnfuse it by clicking on both links, too risky IMO.
#23
What if I someone gets his/her first account opened through this link?

Need to open and account for the Misses and thought this might be a good one, but as she doesn't have an account earlier so technically it will not be considered switching accounts.
