Chance to make £150 for relatively no work. I managed to get this the last time within about a month by just spending 15 mins on the application form. They put the money in my account within the first month and the second month quidco paid out £50. And they managed to give me a £1500 overdraft limit, so i decided to keep it.

Alliance & Leicester have re-launched their £100 cashback incentive for customers who switch their current account to an Alliance and Leicester Premier Current Account. That's £100 cashback on top of the Quidco cashback for switching to a Premier Current Account.

Whatever your banking needs, Alliance & Leicester bank accounts are both flexible and rewarding.

Premier Current Account

A great bank account with added benefits for no monthly fee.

* Free annual multi-trip European travel insurance worth up to £60 (upper age limit of 65 applies).
* 0% EAR typical overdraft. No usage fees on arranged overdrafts for 12 months from when you open the account (new customers only). A usage fee of 50p a day (up to £5 a month) applies after that. Maximum overdraft limit is £2,000.
* You must be over 21. You'll need to pay at least £500 every month into your bank account.

£100 cashback when you open a new Premier Current Account and move your banking using our Switching Service. (See note 1 below).
Get a great current account with added benefits for no monthly fee whilst your account is in credit.

To qualify for this offer you must switch all your direct debits and pay at least £500 from a non-Alliance & Leicester account into your account within 11 weeks of account opening.

You must ask to use our Switching Service at application stage.

This offer isnt available if you already hold or have held one of our current accounts or an Abbey, cahoot or Cater Allen current account in the last 3 months.
If your application is successful, payment of £100 will be made within 3 months of opening the account.

This offer is limited and depends on availability.

Youll need to pay at least £500 every month into your bank account (or fees may apply).
You must be over 21.

£100 offer is not available for Premier Direct, Premier 50 or Premier 21 Current Accounts.

1* The £100 switching offer is only available on the Premier Current Account (this does not include Premier Direct, Premier 21 or Premier 50 Current Accounts). Offer is limited and is only open to customers accepted for a Premier Current Account. A letter will be sent to confirm when the switching process has completed. If you do not have any direct debits to switch you will not receive £100.

Please read the above carefully.

"Youll need to pay at least £500 every month into your bank account"

Need to switch your wages into here I am guessing ?
#2
Waste of time, I did this last time, met all the criteria, they opened another account for me saying, I didn't qualify for the Premier account & opened an ordinary current account & then flooded me with junk mail, a big con!
#3
Made me close my account as I'm mentally disabled, so bad company to deal with. Even though I paid in over £1000 per month, never went over-drawn etc.

So, take them for all you can, get the cash and leave them. Hot if you can get it.

Maybe that's what they prefer - but there's nothing to stop you transferring £500 from another account and then transferring it back. I don't put £500 wages in to the account - just transfer from another. I do happen to use the account though so I don't transfer it back out again.

I don't see any mention of free annual travel insurance - something I get every year from them - so I presume this is not available to new customers??

Same happened for my son.

I'd be interested to know how many months you need to keep paying your salary (or £500) into the account for.

Fees page states if you cease paying in £500 per month then they will charge you £5, so will be a benefit if your salary go through the account

I transferred my account last time. Got the money but it wasn't worth it. Direct debits went unpaid all over the place. Had a total nightmare.

For the last few months I've been getting a letter off A&L every few weeks telling me they're still looking into my complaint. Still no resolution!

Hi, you dont need to move ur wages in there, just a direct debit. And yes £500 a month needs to be deposited, but you can take it out 5 mins later and put it in again the next month, until you get the cashback and then after that its up to you whether you keep the account or not.

I did this the last time the offer was on.

Just to make you aware..... You will only get the £100 from A&L, NOT the quidco, this will initially track and then be declined as you are already taking advantage of another offer.

Lol, thats insane.

I got both. And if ur absurd logic was true, then why would quidco advertise the £100 offer, it no one could get it?

Btw, someone mentioned on the other thread

"Received a letter today saying I had not met the terms of the promotion and would NOT be receiving my £100 !

Anyway, when I phoned them he said that due to a "system error" they had sent out 1000 letters in error and I WILL receive my £100 !!!!"

So u guys should have queried it.

I'm tempted by this altough I wouldn't trust A&L as far as I can throw them - remember these were one of the main crooks behind the campaign to get us all paying charges to withdraw our own cash at ATM machines.

I'm £1K overdrawn in my present current account at the moment, basically when I get paid every month I just about get back to £0. Would this disqualify me from applying?

no I transfer the full overdraft amount into the online saver for 3.19% interest

my quidco has not tracked after a week for the premier current and neither has the online saver account so i'll have to put in manual claims for these after 60 days

Has anyone had the quidco track yet since last monday ??

So do they let you have an overdraught facility from day one then?

Is there an annual charge for having an overdraught? My bank currently charges me £20 a year plus monthly overdraught interest.
#18
no charge for the overdraft

you can use it as soon as you make a payment in (I paid in £1) it was then available instantly

Switched last time and got £100 in my account within a month. Quidco didn't tracked it though.Still £100 worth of free shopping....hurray:whistling::whistling::whistling::whistling:

When is this deal on until? Presumably my only chance of taking this out would be on pay day (last working day of month) the day which my account goes back into credit for all of about 5 seconds!

wow some bad reviews here. thanks for heads up guaise

I opened one of these accounts through Quidco yesterday so that I can benefit from the Fee Free Mortgage deal they are offering when I remortgage next month. (otherwise £995). They also offer a better tracker deal if you have one of these accounts, so I will pay in the required account to cover the mortgage payments each month wheich is just over £500.

If you don't pay in minimum of £500 a month they charge you for your account (monthly)

Some people have had bad luck, as some do with everything. Like i have mentioned in the OP, look at the previous thread on this, which has got over 400 degrees of heat & many have benefitted from this. This deal isnt bad just because some people have bad credit history or cannot manage their accounts properly, i got my £150 in my account within 2 months as did tons of others. Some decided to close their accounts after that, i decided to keep mine open because they gave me an incredible interest free overdraft.

It all depends on urself, some people love credit cards, some hate them.....uve got to see if u can manage this and if u meet their criteria there is no reason why u wouldnt be £150 richer from this deal.

Yeah, that is mentioned in the OP, but they may charge u, its not set in stone, so if u were smart you would deposit the money, take it out and then put it back in the next month. If ur smarter u would do this by clicking a few buttons online and setting up automatic payments. It all depends on ur ability on how far fetched u can see. There is no contract to stay with the bank, so u could close the account once uve been paid, if u didnt like the bank or their services.

Hi Taksim, i dont know when this will be available until, but u dont need to worry about the pay situation. I will take a few weeks to set up ur account and once u have, it is then that u will have to pay in £500 during that month. i.e, i took mine out on 24th of the month, it got set up on the 10th. I then had roughly in my mind until the first week of the following month to pay the money in. I paid it in on the 24th of that month to be on the safeside. But that money can go straight out if u wish, once its been deposited. Uve just got to make the entry.

For anyone who takes phone insurance out with their bank - Alliance & Leicester do not offer this service.
#32
I qualified last time and yes got the full £100 credit plus the £50 quidco. Well in fact we got it twice as me and my wife both opened joint accounts, one with me as the main account holder and one with my wife as the main account holder.

The transfer service was pretty good - had a few direct debits get missed, but this was sorted with a phonecall.

Had it nearly a year now, so far so good. The free overdraft is only free for the first year - after that you'll be charged up to a max of £5 a month (I think). EDIT - as per details in OP.

However, don't go over your overdraft limit at all - even if you put money in straight away before close of business that day as you'll get charged £25 and £5 per day you exceed your limit. So an expensive £30 mistake - thanks then!!

I realised I'd forgotten about a direct debit and put money in straight away to cover it, but as I'd gone over the limit was charged anyway!!

Travel Insurance only covers account holders, so costs extra to include your whole family.

Still a good deal IMO provided you don't go over your overdraft.

For those voting cold, can you please explain ur reasons why? Which other bank gives u £150 for switching?

Ive listed this to genuinely help people make money as easily as i have, i can understand that allot of people think that its too much work or too much to get round, but it wasnt for me and i dont think it will be for many on this website that are astute and manage their finances diligently, so why such response? If u have bad history or have been refused for ur personal circumstances, its not right to vite it cold and put others that are elegible off. Its like saying 'because im disabled, im going to vote every deal that i cant benefit from as cold'.

Ill just keep my bargains and deals to myself in the future. Signing out!
#34
So i could take out an overdraft for a year, and leave it in the account for the interest.

THIS IS A GREAT DEAL! I did this last time, no probs & now £100 better off, (it was paid within 2 months of opening the account, although T&C's state within 3 months) I've had no problems with the AL & haven't been bombarded with junk mail. I'm keeping my account, as I get free european multi trip insurance & have opened a futher savings account with them as they were offering 3.15% for instant access which was one of the best deals I could find. Yes u have to switch your DD's but that was just one signature on a form..quite painless, & yes you have to pay in £500 a month. You could pay your wages in but I didn't bother with changing that over, so I just transfer £500 over to this account on a standing order, again quite painless too. My only gripe is I didn't know about the quidco thing so I'm £50 down there!! ONE HAPPY CUSTOMER HERE! ;)
#36
Me and my better half applied online.
We set up a standing order for £500 from our accounts our wages get paid paid into , moved 1 direct debit only to this A&L account using there free switching service.
After paying in 2 months of standing orders I got my £100 paid into account, 2 months later £50 quidco paid in. All in all £300 for not a lot of effort.
Closed these accounts and moved each standing order back to original account straight after getting all the cashbacks with no problems. :)

I have had exact same problem, they changed my direct debits over without my permission then when I asked them to change them back they left one on for ebay and then charged me for going overdrawn even tho I had told them to close the account! Ended up owing them about £300!!! Absolute mess, took about 8 months for them to sort it out!
#38
I did this 6 months ago - total nightmare for us, as we have about 30 DDs/SOs and their switching service messed up bigtime.
Their customer service number is 0871, so costs a bit to dial and there don't seem to be any alternatives.

BUT if you've got fairly simple finances, then it's definitely worth a pop. I got the £100 about 3mths later AND my £50 (actually £55 after topup) tracked and paid out through Topcashback.

Definitely a hot deal for the free cash, but be careful if you use their switching service. Terrible bank!

Hmm...maybe people should only switch one DD over, rather then all then? They sent me a list of all my dd's and i selected one from the list and sent it back.
