Not knocking your deal as these are good locks but it is worth having a look in Halfords at the moment in their 'reduced' section and on the normal shelves. Just picked up a Magnum Plus and an Abus Granit X-Plus lock for £35 each. They are both rated as Gold by Sold Secure. Which is good for insurance purposes.
They are both good locks but they both lack the compensation aswell. Best thing is to get two different types of locks though.
The Magnum offers £1,400 compensation so long as it is registered and you follow specific instructions to claim it. Not got the Abus with me so don't know if it has any compo back if it is broken. I will be using both locks to secure my bike. Pretty sure that will deter the passing thief. But any expert thief will still have ways of getting them off. I also avoid parking my bike too often in public places - which helps! The compo on the one you have listed is pretty impressive - they must have a lot of faith in their product!

I was not aware of this. Unfortunately Kryptonite's compensation only covers for 1 year I have just found out

I wouldn't mind help finding a ladies mtb please not sure what I'm looking for....max is £300 thanks
That's slightly above your budget, but not a bad deal http://www.paulscycles.co.uk/m1b0s2p4057/MONGOOSE-TYAX-COMP-2012
Basically all your contact with the bike are the pedals, the grips and the saddle. Latter makes a lot of difference when it comes to genders, so I'd advise you to buy a standard MTB and change the saddle to a female version if the original one is uncomfortable.

If you're planning to use the bike a lot I really advise to stretch the budget, as you'd get so much better parts (and less pain with the maintenance, repairs) for around £5-600. It really does worth it. I started off with an entry-level Specialized HardRock 2009 Comp, and through the years I ended up replaced literally every part one-by-one (except for the frame), and I couldn't believe the difference everything has made! You get what you pay for, and £300 is the entry level (everything below that is very dangerous and unreliable if you ask me).
Thank you for your help, I run a lot,, just thought a bike would save me going spinning too I will look at your link thanks

Another higher spec option here for £100 more:

http://www.paulscycles.co.uk/m1b0s2p4207/CUBE-LTD-2012

Air forks, XT parts and Hollotech 2 crank makes this so worth the extra £100

Definitely worth the extra £100!!

Even if you pay £4k for a carbon fibre bad boy, they'll supply cheap nasty peddles
My hubby paid over 2k for his mtb and i said to him where's the pedals? he said " you got to buy pedals separate" oO

I got the same response. She thought it hilarious that it came with no pedals.

That should read *especially* if you pay £4k, you'll get cheap nasty peddles...

RRP on mine was above that, but it still came with the cheapest, nastiest set of pedals that would have made you feel like you'd been ripped off even if you'd bought them in PoundStretcher :D

Its a nice bike, but better deals can be had. The Forks and Groupset are Ok, but again, there are better bikes for that money. Have a look at some of the sensa bikes at Merlin Cycles, or Canyon bikes direct from germany.

Ive been looking at a sensa 29er, with Reba forks and SLX - XT groupset, its a lot of bike for £899
http://www.merlincycles.com/bike-shop/bikes/mountain-bikes/sensa-mountain-bikes/sensa-merano-tnt-comp-29er-2013.html

tried 29er's, just can't get used to them, just not my riding style.. Good deal though if you like 29er's.

Something wrong in the head if u spend this sort of money on a bike

Something wrong with your head more like, Think about it if your a serious mountain biker your not goind to ride down ben nevis on a £89 halfords piece of crap as your end up serious hurt if not dead, you get what you pay for and for this money this bike is hot.
stuartc74
The Corratec Revolution is a great bike for the money but it weighs near enough the same and can't be bought with 36 months interest free credit. Great bike but some people can't afford to spend a grand right out. The Germans are making great bikes but they are a bit of an unknown in the sense that Radons and Canyons have to be ordered from Germany so returns/problems would be a nightmare and the brakes have to be swapped around from Euro to UK style. I considered the Corratec Revolution 2012 but there is no way i'll ever buy from Chainreactioncycles again after a friends experience with them. (he ended up seriously injured as the bike was so badly set up).

Yes, there is no interest free credit but in return you get a CARBON frame and better components. I would say off the top of my head, would work out a better deal even if you take into account the cost of a bank loan to buy it.

Also, as you get more experience, the Corratec will be a better frame (a carbon frame hardtail XC bike rides much better in my opinion than than an Alloy frame) to base your upgrades on.

As to CRC, I have had 3 bikes from them. 2 were set up perfect out of the box, the 3rd one was rather shoddy and I ended up having to re-adjust everything. Nothing major, but just annoying.

I'm getting that feeling too. It's just beginning to make me doubt whether it was worth doing as costs are at near £200 now. But when I see the kind of quality built bikes are in which cost £200 I see what I'm doing is worth it. I got some good shocks for very cheap, £54.95 for 2011 Suntour XCR LockOuts.
Manufactured bike with those forks cost upwards of £300.

Don't get too hung up on what you can buy ready built, just enjoy building it and riding it, it's definitely worth it.

I built a bike from scratch a few years ago and I am not overly technical. Really nice feeling of achievement when it's done. Only took a few hours from start to finish once I had all the parts.

I used a Merlin Cycles Malt 1 frame, which would be of similar quality to this I would think. The frame cost £99 when I did mine but it seems a fair bit more expensive now:

http://www.merlincycles.co.uk/Bike+Shop/Frame++Forks/Frames+-+MTB/Merlin++Rock+Lobster+Frames/Merlin+Malt+1+Frame_688.htm

This deal seems brilliant for the money, hot from me.

You can buy this on eBay for £19.58 delivered (brand new). I took receipt of mine yesterday. Not voting either way, as not everyone likes to buy from eBay.

Same. Seems like a good lock to me. Silver I think. Although everything is breakable if one tries hard enough. I personally have two locks, this and a slightly cheaper 1. Extra deterrents always help.
Ebay has it for cheaper @ 19 , yet brandnew.

Mod edit. Ebay link removed. Item number is allowed ;)

Where do you get the additional cadence sensor? Can't see it on the all terrian cycles site.:?
Has it got some sort of back light so that you can use it in the dark?
Seems to be between £70 - £90 most other places so quite a discount  You can also add a cadence sensor to it for another £14.99.
