Thanks for this. I ordered earlier also. I don't think the stock number against the item is accurate though, as it has showed 2 for at least the past 30 minutes.

I would not think so as the sub woofer has the amplifier that drives the speakers.

Hi,

Sorry only just picked up your question.

It is showing order placed at 14:18:53

I see that 28 more were due on the 12th.

Hope this helps

Any chance that these would work with the XBOX 360?

Even with some sort of adaptor?
#22

I ordered them anyway as I was playing Gears' at my mates today and he had a sub woofer and it completely outweighed my current 2.0 default speaker set-up... I'm not expecting it to be near his but it was about time I got some decent speakers to go with a new monitor I'm after...

Any help with the compatibility with these and an XBOX 360 would be muchly appreciated...

Ok - Taken this from the Altec Lansing webpage for this item:

* Not just for your PC – Easily connects to video gaming systems, portable CD players, MP3 players and other audio sources.
* Built-in Controls – Power On/Off, Master and Subwoofer Volume are all at your finger tips
* Shielded satellites and subwoofer – For use near video monitors
* Easy Set-up – You're up and running in seconds, and with a built-in power supply, you can plug in anywhere.

How would I connect it to a 360?

With one of these: http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?TabID=1&ModuleNo=34196&doy=7m2

Plugs straight into jack on the subwoofer that the cable from your soundcard does. They also come with the Xbox360 VGA cable:)
#32
They are now £14.44.

BTW, do they have an input for headphones?
#33
Ordered a set earlier @ £13.27. Voted hot and left rep

So I would connect the sound (phono) parts of the 360 VGA cable into one of those adaptors and then plug the 3.5mm jack of that adaptor into my subwoofer?

I'm one of those people that needs every step explained simply when it comes to cables otherwise I can't get my head around it...

EDIT: £14.44 somehow seems a lot more than £13.27 that I paid...

Good to see that they now have 100 due in stock on 12/2/07 :D

Yes, in the same green port on the subwoofer that the cable from your pc's sound card would normally:)

Our next delivery of these is on 16-MAR-2007 and your order will be shipped ASAP after this date.

Please accept our apologies for the delay.
