Description

One Speaker = A Roomful of Sound.

Nothing could be simpler. Or more impressive. The PT7031 replaces a traditional A/V receiver and separate speakers with one, beautiful cabinet that sits on any flat surface or mounts directly to the wall beneath your flat-screen TV. But don't let the simplicity fool you. This is true Dolby and DTS multichannel surround sound-made possible by NXT Digital flat-panel technology that reflects sound from your side walls to the back of the room to completely immerse you in the theater experience.

Looks a good price. Voted hot on price.

Can anyone find any reviews? I am looking for a home cinema system and this might save me some wires.

A kind of mini review here, interesting use of the English language, but better than nothing.

The user manual is also available online in pdf format here.

It may be worth remembering that these system work by reflecting sounds off the walls of your room, so the size and shape of the room can have a big impact on how well they work, not to mention the positioning of the TV. If the TV is in the corner then it won't work very well. You'll also need to be at least a couple of metres away from the unit to get decent performance.

EDIT: Another, not so positive, review here.

Thanks for the links. It still looks interesting but possibly not for me. I will just have to get used to cabling everywhere.

That first review, although useful, does look like it was originally done in another language, thrown through a translater and slapped on to the screen!

Nice inputs - digital cooxial, 2x optical, 3x audio jacks; also subwoofer output provided. Very odd video-out that just shows the on screen display (don't know how you could layer that on top of what you are watching.
Shame the user manual doesn't bother to list what forms of surround sound it can decode (Pro Logic II, etc).

No problem, it was my turn to get up with the little one and give Mrs Mike a deserved lie-in, so I thought I'd have a browse before most sensible people wake up!

Although it's a nice idea, it'd be no good for us as we have our TV in the corner of an odd shaped room so it just wouldn't work.
