Very good value for money, they dont look bad either. My brother got some a while ago and the sound quality is excellent. Probably better than some seinheiser headphones.

New MP3 players and other portable digital devices all come with headphones.
The problem is, their quality may be an afterthought. After all, device manufacturers are into devices, not headphones.

That's why Altec Lansing developed the Upgrader series of headphones - to give consumers a step up when replacing headphones. All Upgrader series headphone models are designed to offer great sound. But more than that, they provide a better, more customised fit for exceptional comfort.

Looks like they have been this price for a while around on the net:

2.0 out of 5 stars Not the best, If I'm honest. The midrange spoils what could have been a good pair of headphones., April 9, 2009
By M. Scarlett "fakeheadphones"
Because they retail at quite a high price (they've now come down in price) I thought that they would rival, if not better the c-jay, Sennheiser PX100/200 & new HD238, the iGrado, and Denon AH-P372 of which I own all of the above. Put simply, they're don't!

There is a reason for that, and that's the appalling midrange. It's slow and ponderous at best, which is a shame because the bass is good and the highs are well extended. Put into that the fact that the build quality and design is rather quite special, it's a shame that it falls at the last hurdle.

I good pair of headphones at a bargain price? Maybe. However, unfortunately the more established group will fly past them... which is a shame!

The best value for money
I bought this headphone in August 2008. I was really quite fascinated by the sound quality. Well I am aware of Altec Lansing speakers but I never came across the headphones. This is the best headphone for 26$.

Which ones leak? the Altec or Skullcandys, I like to turn my music up loud on public transport, so don't want any complaints

For those of you looking for slightly smaller ones, not as good as these, but better for jogging, exercising ect. Im considering to buy these http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/564626/sony-mdr-as100w-active-series-headp:thinking:

Maybe.....

Argh, i'm really tempted by this but would hate for a rubbish quality pair of headphones. I'm gonna wait on the reviews and suscribe to this thread

Got them at a similar price a while ago and they really aren't very good, very unconformable and pretty poor sound, I use some Sony ones I got from Tesco for £12 and they are a lot better, ended up selling the Altec's on ebay for about a tenner!

Good price but bad headphones. Not voted either way.
