Can't find any reviews, but they're Altec Lansing, and they're £59.99 from Play, £74.99 from Curry's, and £58 from DABS, so even with Scan's standard delivery charge it still seems a good deal if you're looking for a set of 2.1 speakers. And if you can add another item and get to the minimum, then some of you will get free delivery.

Item is in the supersavers Today Only

If you click buy from the Today Only page you get them for the price above but click through to the actual item http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?ProductId=17772 and they appear to be more expensive.

The clues are in the words Today Only and SuperSaver...........
That's the whole point of the Today Only page. Only use the actual page to get the info about them. I've already gone to checkout stage to get the full delivery price for you

If I have my facts right, only for those who were already registered before they removed it, and even avforum members have a minimum which this is under on its own. That's why I've included full P&P in the post.

This is £24.99 + P&P @ ebuyer but you get free delivery for definite when you order over £49.99. So if you are ordering something else it would work out cheaper at ebuyer.

Scan is such a con with their delivery prices and it gets much more expensive the more you order. AW forums discount has since been "suspended" and wouldnt work.
banned#12
av forum works fine if you've signed up for it (and dont take the mickey by ordering less then 20 quids - which is apparently why it was suspended in the first place)

may have to resign up tho

And if you're on the affore mentioned offer - it's only £17.61 - so you just need to spend about another 3 quid to qualify... which unless I'm mistaken is rather less than £24.99 + P&P :)

So me votes hot - as I need a cheap set of speakers (and the t-equaliser t-shirts a nice novelty when i'm drunk at the club :))

Thanks for the heat and the clarification on avforums. I'm too old for the T-shirt, but i'm sure I'll find something else

lol, thats strange all my scan order early this year were over £100 and I dont get the free delivery anymore.

Yeah, I m not saying its a bad deal just that not everyone will get free delivery and if you are ordering more it will work out cheaper with ebuyer that way. Its £20 ex VAT MOV I think - so around £6 extra.

If you order it on its own from ebuyer, its £30.48. That's more than Scan (for today only, admittedly). If you add another £26 quids worth of goods from ebuyer, it comes free on supersaver. IF you are lucky enough to have the avforum free delivery (or one of the others that exist), then you just add a small item (like a T-shirt maybe?), or whatever to bump it up over £20, and you get it next day with free delivery. How is either of these Scan options worse than ebuyer?

No I didnt say it was bad deal, i heated this.

I am just saying that if you were going to order other stuff to over 50 quid aswell and you don't get free delivery with scan like me you might as well go with ebuyer ...

Just throwing it out in the open that its £24.99 in ebuyer, not saying this is a bad deal!
Maybe someone will read this tommorrow and the price would have gone up in scan.

Ordered one with my free AVForum/Scan delivery (included a T-Equaliser Dancer Interactive Clubwear Tee-Shirt @ £3.51 to make it over the £20).

The remote should make them a half decent option to use with my telly.

Strange haven`t used Scan for ages but because of this damn site used them twice in 4 days (also got the Coolermaster Centurion PC case).

We should arrange a HUKD gathering with everyone wearing the t-shirts !!!!

..................................................Then again maybe not

Hi Bogeyman

I have dealt with N.I. in the past in my business career, and I will not deny that you poor sods get a very poor deal on many many occasions. I've seen many offers expressly exclude N.I., which would really **** me off if I lived there. However, you can't even get this delivered in England for £5!! Scan can only go with what couriers charge them to deliver across the water. I really don't think that the delivery charge is down to Scan. You see this comment loads of times on this site.

Well, it's about time you got some advantage from living in that region. :whistling:

Only joshing: my wife's family comes from Preston, so as long as you don't hate PNE too much, that has to stand me in good stead: plus I just love Mr. Kay :-D

lol @ the 20 new topics. But once you're there, you're there, mate !!: thumbsup: I will accept that Scan's "one choice only" P&P rate is a little steep compared to ebuyer, but every now and then, they have some stonking deals, especially on supersaver, and if you have the free delivery option (I'm with Hexus), then, to quote Scan, it's a no-brainer!

Ordered mine. been a member of AVForums for about 9 months but don't post much so had to 'pad' out my post count. Ordered that Dane-Elec 512mb MP3 thingy and also a VGA cable, cuz i needs one like! :p

Worryingly... I never received a confirmation email and nothing is listed in my order history...?

This normal?

Give 'em a break! It's 10:30 pm! I've never had a problem with Scan on the free delivery front. Does this mean you ordered these instead of the Creatives?

I ordered it several hours ago though! I've ordered from Scan in the past but that was going back a few years. Just strange not to get a confirmation email or anything in my order history, I'm worried that it hasn't gone through and I'm going to miss out big time.

Yeah, I was leaning towards the Creative's but once these popped up I had to have them. Remote control + Altec Lansing + Free delivery = Win! :-D

The offer is valid until around 1 pm tomorrow (that's when the 24 hour today only deal changes), so I'm sure it will go through. I like Creatives too, but I agree with your equation! :

Yeah, I guess I'll have to keep checking my email and scan account tomorrow morning. I'm sure that I pressed confirm as I remember having to do the credit card check thingy-ma-jig afterwards....

I'm just getting paranoid is all, if something can go wrong inevitably it does!

Don't panic i'm in the same boat, but guess it will update tomorrow, its not a 24/7 ordering system...... :whistling:

"We do accept orders 24/7 through our online ordering system - however if you have ordered over the weekend please bear in mind your order may not update through email confirmations, Parcel Tracking or My Account section until midday on Monday. If your order still does not appear or you encounter any kind of error when submitting it, please refrain From placing a duplicate order as this may cause Further problems. In these cases please contact Customer Services on 0871-472-4747 or log an online query here. In order to help us obtain customer feedback from our newly implemented VBV payment system it would be very helpful if you could retain screenshots in the rare event of any errors during the process.
