Not sure on the exact price due to the exchange rate, but these are almost certainly cheaper than this!

These work really really well with a massive variety of handsets, and its often a lot cheaper than getting your phone unlocked via the network or a dodgy market stall!

Not entirely sure how these work but you just pop it behind your original simcard, then insert both in your phone (fits easily as theyre really REALLY thin) and Hey Presto! I recently had to unlock my BlackBerry 8320 and a Nokia N95 8gb. Orange wanted £20 for the blackberry and ebay sellers charged even more (25). I bought this and it works perfectly in both! Delivery was under a week too, can't recommend these enough!

Seen these a while ago, and this put me off :-(

With companies giving simcards away for free, it's hardly a problem. If you want a new simcard just grab a free one and ask them to transfer your number onto that simcard - simple.
#4
works perfectly on my w800i sony ericcson. you do have to cut your sim card so it slots in.
excellent tho
#5
is that a referal link at the end of this! the deal extreme points referal links all start with r.
#6

Although if it breaks any rules im quite happy to reomve it to
#7

at least i dont think you are!
#8

#9

#10

#11

Not when you have two on Orange Virgin EQ contracts!
Bit of a battle to get one replaced at all by all accounts... and a bill of 17 quid each apparently! They just don't want you to have them any more.

That said, time will come when I port the numbers elsewhere, the Virgin-like pricing system is getting well beaten by the new ASDA rates, although on heavy use days, it still means I only need pay 5p a minute after the 15p initial 3 minutes, and have no topping up hassles - that's why I have hung to to them. [Virgin/T Mobile coverage is hopeless where I need it]

Doesn't help if you have an 18 month contract & want to change handset half way through.
#15
This looks like something I would try. Heat added :-) xx

Is this like a mod chip, where you have to keep the device in your phone at all times for it to continue being unlocked ?
Or do you do it once, and then you can take out the device and unlock another phone ?
#17
You do realise that the mobile operator can unlock your phone also!
#18
think i might give this a go on my blackberry 8120 locked to orange, worth a shot for that sort of money.

thanks op
#19
Killed my Sony Ericcson W810i and T-Mobile (contract) charge £10 to replace a sim with the same number!
#20
Nice, Ive been looking for this kind of solution for testing new phones, without having to unlock them 'professionally:thumbsup:' cheers OP.
#21
Anyone know if this works on N80s?
#22
tried but they dint work on n80

You do realise that they are only obliged to do this a certain time into your contract, and it can often cost rather more than £4. ;-)

Will it work on iPhone3G?

If anyone is on pay as you go, and locked on one network, just phone them up and ask for an unlock code for free.
Most of the big networks will get it to you within the week and as long as you have topped up a certain amount since you have had the phone (on Virgin and O2 its £30's worth of topups) it will cost you nothing to get it unlocked and save you cutting up sim cards.

I tried a similar one on my K800i which was on a Three Contract...Tried to use the K800i with an 02 pay as you go sim..... didnt work :( Tried it with another phone which is not a 3G phone & it worked....

Vodaphone unlocked an old Sharp phone for me for free. Well they gave me the code, but they didn't have the procedure, they even let me use the phone in store to ring Sharp who sent me an email giving instructions how to unlock it!

This was after going to a dodgy market stall to see if they could unlock it for a tenner but they couldn't!
#30
I just bought a locked T Mobile Nokia 6300 yesterday. I asked the shop to unlock it and he put one of these in, then the sim card and the phone are now unlocked.
Works great for me.
#31
i got one .. works! .. you can use a hole punch for the sim.

But a sharp blade/stanley knife does the job much better. Make sure you copy the numbers down on your sim for future reference before you start chopping!!

Not any more they don't, Virgin have been charging £15 since May this year, regardless of how much you've spent with them over the years.
