That sucks shoula gone to oakwood
#4
great deal i would go regular with friends if it wasn't 4 hours away!!

Do you think you can use the car park and drink offer without the admission? I'm going today (one of the dates listed) with daughter and granddaughter and have already bought tickets but the car parking and drink would come in very handy!
#6
Doesn't that mean you're paying £12 for a £5 parking slot and a cup of coffee?

When did they introduce the car park fee, I'm sure they never had it last time I was there....criminal...people should just not go, they'd change it back in no time.
#7
Can anybody who has managed to use the voucher for car parking post reply here. I am going on 16th June with kids but not toddlers and would like to use the car park ticket.

Thanks

No, I mean could I detach the car park and drink voucher and use them on their own. I agree with the comments about car parking. I wouldn't mind if there were alternative places to park and you were paying for the convenience of being closer but you have no option. The NEC at Birmingham is the same but it's £8 there!
#9
Park at the rail staition instead. Only £6, and a free ride to the Airport, on the shuttle. NEC is via a covered walkway.
#10
the parking and the drink voucher both say "[FONT=FSClerkenwell-Light][FONT=FSClerkenwell-Light]when used in conjunction with Parent
& Toddler entry offer." So I'm pretty sure you're not going to be able to use them
on their own. :x
Will try today and see what happens

I'll be using this:)
#12
looks good :)

heat and repped

we will deffo be going soon,

we have 2 kids under 4 it will save us a £34 :)
#13
me and hubby want to take our toddler (2) on one of those dates - does that mean we will pay 12 pounds for one of us and the toddler, then the full adult price for the other one of us?! or can we just pay 2 lots of 12 pounds even though we'll only have the one toddler.
#14
Normal adult price £29 so a really good saving, We are going with 2 adults and 2 under 4's so it will save us £34 plus £5 parking .... thanks

Wonder if we could stay in a travel lodge in the area for £34 to be there early?

heat and rep added

any good deals about for oakwood? Closer for me
#16
awesome deal:thumbsup: it is not really worth paying full price when you have young children as you don't get your moneys worth, so this deal will go down a treat:-D
#17
£5 to park is a rip off!
#18
Making you pay for parking at Alton Towers is a con......end of.

I'd rather them build it into the ticket price and i wouldnt feel so bad.
#19
Last time i went you could park close for £5, or literally a 2 min walk further away for Free. This was June 2007 though, so may have changed since then.
#20
same here i never paid parking i went twice last year..... has it changed this year then??????
#21
Just been to their website to see, and there's nothing at all about parking fee - maybe it's "extra special close parking" or something.
#22
Last time I went there were 2 charges, one to park close to the park, and another to park further away and get the monorail. Either way you needed to pay if you wanted to leave the car park as you had to get a token.
#23
They have tried to hide it on their website.

Just for your info, children under 4 go free anyway, if you look around there are always 2-4-1 tickets so it could work out cheaper for you to do it that way?? As for parking, we went earlier this year and its £5 regardless of where you park :x

EDIT: Typical, I've looked for you and can't find any vouchers!!! (Unless you have a mastercard that is!!)
#25
Thanks to the OP - I think I'll use this tomorrow as my son's school is closed for the elections and I'll take him and my 3yr old so it'll be £39 for me and my son, I did think of pre-booking his ticket but on the T&C's it says that the voucher can't be used in conjunction with any other offers or pre-bookable tickets :x But i'll save the £5 on parking anyway so that's ok.

You always have to pay for parking, last year it was £4, and you have had to pay for a while now
#27
any offers for drayton manor park?
#28
If you want to avoid the parking charges, just park in the Splash Landing car park next door. You get to it via a different entrance, meaning you don't have to go through the barriers

Instead of turning right into the usual car park, carry on and take the next right. It should all be sign posted as Splash Landings.

I'd just like to point out that Alton Towers are under enormous pressure to reduce the traffic through the village of Alton. The charges may have been done to keep the villagers happy. It may not just be all about money.

The charges have been there for as long as I can remember for the car park, at least during summer time. Going back at least 5 years here.

Unless they operate something like a Park and Ride, there is nothing they'll ever be able to do about the traffic. The fact Alton Towers is pretty much in the middle of nowhere, doesn't give people options to go by public transport that other theme parks do.

I went yesterday. You can't use the parking or drinks voucher without the £12 entry. You have to pay the £12 and they give you a car park token and a special drinks voucher back.
#33
Has anyone tried using this WITHOUT a child?

They have closed this loop hole this year as the barrier on the Hotel road is always down and manned now and you have to show a key card, splash landings receipt or wristband or an anual pass to get through without paying.

we're off today for thew weekend so will try the voucher for coffee as we have annual passes so get in free and also car parking is free to annual pass holders, but i agree £5 to park your car just adds to the cost of the day x
