I wouldn't risk my legs to be honest

I got run over by a motorbike and got a broken leg in 6 places and had to have a metal rod fitted in my leg but I am sure that won't put you off crossing a road

Did they manage to get you some contraception as well? Mummy of 7 bloody hell oO

5pm would be nice! A lot of the time they have 4pm closures! Barely worth going.
We went earlier in the year, loads of stuff still closed, rides been down for well over a year now, food and drink outlets shuttered down, arrived at 10:10am and didnt get in to the park itself until 12:30pm... the queues to get in just didn't move. I don't know what they were playing at but the entire place has just given up and clearly very little money being put in to the place of late.
The only ride not operating was the Sky ride. Rita was awesome!
Sub Terra is still closed, submission removed, ripsaw removed, ice age 4d removed, the swinging chairs have gone too, as well as an indoor play area for the kids. Oh and the log flume. Theres the 6 coasters and CBeebies land now. Just pathetic tbh

Does anybody know the Sun Code for Merlin pass holders by any chance please? I've been informed there is a separate code for this.
It is MAP50 but the discount is the same so just use SUN17. The MAP50 link is here: https://www.altontowers.com/holidayclub50march/

Thank you so much. Have now booked 3 nights.

I already had a booking for a stay at one of the enchanted lodges and I managed to get Alton towers to cancel it and rebook at half the price for the same day. Also got a second night for only £72.50.
I thought it starts tomorrow? ?
Wish I'd checked earlier on the PC.
I tried the code on my iPad and it worked straight away.
I did not complete the payment online as I rang up to cancel my previous booking and I gave them the code over the phone and re booked.

could i just ask, have you bought the entry tickets seperatly? im planning on buying the 2day ones online

anyone know if this is still valid?? trying to put the code in online but can't find anywhere to put it, also where do I find the live chat option???
Just got back from our stay at Alton Towers splash landings hotel, it was worth it for the water park in the hotel alone! I think we spent more time in the water than the actual park!!!

Thanks again for posting this deal, hopefully same again next year!
excellent, thank you so much.

Can anyone confirm the code when calling. I just tried BRO05 to be told it was close but not correct , then tired BR005 to be told its incorrect and finally tried EM50 which also didnt work.

Is this offer still on? Can't see it now?
We've been going for past 3/4 years, using two free tickets from sun then buy one get one free using vouchers from cereal packets and usually stay at days inn usually around £55 in August seems like a good deal it's on motorway and about 30-45 minute from Alton towers no traffic!
shame their safety record is looking poor these days
Just remember to sit at the back on the rides.

In all seriousness are people avoiding sitting at the front now?

Can I buy this, but only go with my girlfriend?
Yes, if it is only the two of you, you'd
change the package. It lists as £99 when I just checked for the same hotel etc.

Any similar deals for just two adults?
Exact same offering but for £99, same dates etc.
Thanks, unfortunately that date is too far, by then I would have broke up with the current gf! Need a Jun date. Don't know if prices change often but so far no deal so will keep checking!

That's what I call forward planning...looks like she's got a keeper oO

Anyone manage to get a good deal for more than 4 people?

I got a room for 6 people (4 adults, 2 children - my kids are 16,14,11 & 9) for £135, 1 night, august bank holiday weekend.
Just back from alton towers hotel was fine food OK and staff at hotel and restaurant nice splash landing was good and staff very good and professional now the bad stuff staff at park all young kids with bad attitude park a mess not many food places open rides for kids 5 to 12 crap went on cable cars and was stuck mid mid air for 17 minutes never got the kids on a ride as there are only 7 and there is about a 15 minute walk to each you would think they would put all the kids rides at front of park from age's up till the big adults rides but no we had a crap time on the park and told them we wanted a refund they said they never give a refund for what ever the problem I said if I didn't get my money back i would be calling the news paper so they gave me my money back after a hour of starting I would never go to the park again it was rubbish if something went wrong on the park you wouldn't stand a chance young cheeky kids in charge and no help being stuck in cable cars and no intercom working to ask for help disgrace

had a look. cheapest I could get was £380.00

staying at the Premier Inn at Stoke on Trent now, so not far away, plus park tickets = £177.00.

Coming down from Scotland so had to factor in fuel, too.
The food in the restaurant is very costly.
What is the cheapest for me, husband and my 3 year old in 1 room and my sister her husband and 3 kids under 4 to stay one night and have two days at Alton towers what's the cheapest because it's expensive on Alton towers website

They don't do the offers they used to do years ago , the last deal we got was 2 adults 2 kids staying in the slash landings on a Friday night , 4 park tickets and and 4 full breakfasts for £120 , that was a deal . No to stay at there 3 onsite hotels with tickets for the same deal £480 !!!!! No thanks

I've been looking at staying there for 2 or 3 nights and it's coming up to the price you have just quoted. absolute con in my eyes.

So thought I'd have a look at Disneyland paris. Got 2 adults to 2 kids, 3 nights half board in one of the disney hotels, 4 days park tickets which includes fast track on rides and P&O ferry crossing for £520 in May. Thought that's more of a deal.

i think thats what is known as humour...
probably is a good deal but whilst the accident is fresh in peoples minds expect comments and less heat than usual
I think everyone can appreciate it was an unfortunate incident and should never have happened. However, to criticise a deal plainly because it involves Alton Towers is odd. Clearly unlike some, I have posted this deal without the aim for as much 'heat' as possible. If what I found is beneficial to one person, that's good enough for me. To me it is a good deal, hence I have booked it myself.
i think its way more odd not to expect criticism of a deal involving a place which very recently experienced a preventable accident!
If people choose not to visit again because of that, it is their choice. How can you say I do not accept that? The original comment did not elaborate to the reason for it being 'mad' to post the deal.
where do i say you dont accept that?
i say its very obvious that it would happen so no need to elaborate on any reason or get made about it

Not seen one, though with Scarefest being on, in previous years they have reduced prices for October at the last minute. No guarantee this year, although it does definitely seem that booking early is not always beneficial.

Checked the site whilst at Alton Towers and a room had become available tonight! Too late, great day out again - probably the safest time to go with extra security checks done on all equipment and staff very cautious.
Yes there is one available for tonight, a shame it was too late! Yes, I totally agree re: safety. :)

I dont think this has expired.

We went today using Free Sun tickets and Clubcard vouchers and were given tickets to come back any time before November.
Why expired? They're still handing out the free tickets today

Also - you get a free ticket even if you're an annual pass holder. Worth dropping by if you're in the area...

sorry but I voted cold, this is just a poor pr stunt. I carnt wait to hear in the news about the massive pay out they will have for the poor people who were badly injured.
Sadly they won't have to pay a penny. The insurance company will foot the bill and Alton towers will be free to carry on ripping people off whilst cutting corners where health and safety is concerned.

I'm sure there is a high Excess Fee in an accident of this nature. So they Will Pay.

Nar your ok.I'll swerve this deal.should be free to get in for a while to entice people back. There reputation is already tarnished im afraid
Why is everyone making such a massive deal over what's happened, nobody has actually been killed.Yes it's not good for the poor sods who were hurt but the fact is accidents happen no matter how much money is spent, technology fails to do what it's meant to,that's life and the risk that everyone takes.
Also humans make mistakes,I wonder how many people have died over the years traveling to Alton towers in a car due to a mechanical failure or human error ?
If what had happened had happend in a car it wouldn't have even made the news anywhere, and it makes me laugh how every man and his dog that knows anyone who was on that ride that day is now coming out the woodwork to wish them well, but that's only because they are hoping there tweet or Facebook message will be made public in the press.
As for the free tickets,if they didn't give anything away people would probably moan that it's wrong they ain't doing anything to say sorry to people.
I will certainly be going back to Alton towers as I'm cleaver enough to understand that there is a risk with everything I do and I've got more to worry about walking along the pavement than I have going to a theme park.
What's annoyed me is finding out that the emergency services weren't rang immediately once this had happened. It was such a difficult rescue anyway so any extra time they could have saved may have been vital. The 17 year old girl involved in this has had to have her leg amputated. You're right to suggest that accidents happen all the time, however it doesn't sit well to learn of these circumstances surrounding this one.
And that's the human error part, you can't hold the whole of the merlin group responsible for the wrong doings of the old person.
It was only a few weeks ago some mad man decided he was going to ditch the plane he was flying full of passengers, not the airlines fault.
It's not human error to not call the emergency services. It's incompetence, or poor training. Both of which are the responsibility of the company.
An intentional plane crash cannot be compared to an unintentional theme park crash, unless you're a bit simple.

The emergency services were called,we do not know if it was error by the staff to why it took 11 minutes as it could well be there is a list of things to do/check before a call is made,

IF it was caused by human error I can't see how directly the company can be at fault if it's proven that adequate training has been given to that member of staff, the fault then falls at the feet of the individual that was not doing their job,and no amount of training can make someone do their job correctly if they decide they don't want to do it correctly.

I don't think there is any need to suggest that I'm simple because of the comparison I made. The point I was making about the pilot was that even with all their training a company can't stop members of staff not doing their job as they have been trained,be it ditching a plane or not paying attention on what a roller coaster is doing.

I will certainly be going back to Alton towers as I'm cleaver enough to understand that there is a risk with everything I do and I've got more to worry about walking along the pavement than I have going to a theme park.

This voucher is valid on promotional packets of Kellogg’s cereals, (Crunch Nut, Rice Krispies, Frosties, Fruit & Fibre, Raison Wheats, Fruit Loops, Variety Packs) and promotional breakfast bars, (Nutri-Grain, Pop Tarts, Squares, Fruit Winders). Products are readily available between January & July 2015 with vouchers valid until 30 June 2016.
Kelloggs site states June http://grownupsgofree.kelloggs.co.uk/terms_conditions.html TERMS & CONDITIONS VOUCHER EXPIRY 30.06.15
But regardless June or July this is all season round :)

The vouchers that were on packs last year expire June 2015, the ones on current packs expire June 2016.
The only exception is the London eye which expires on 3rd April 2015.
The full T&c's can be seen at http://www.kelloggs.co.uk/promotions.
Thus this is all year round and is cheaper.

Ah that's fab! Well done for getting the last one!

Booked - Ta v much £88
Alton Towers hotel Explorer room 2adults & 3child
Breakfast
Check in after 3pm Fri & Check Out by 10am Sat (pack your swimmers separately)
Access to the water park Sat 9-6pm - wristband so you can go in and out
Access to Sea Life 10-2pm
Take shattered kids home brushed and in PJ's and time for us to unwind

How old are your kiddies? I tried booking for 5, 9, 10 yr olds and 2 adults but was told (on the phone) it's £160 for the bigger room.
4,5,7 but apparently I got the last room available for that weekend - I was then quoted more for other options if I did not book over the phone. Bit the bullet and booked awaiting the wrath if I had not ensured it was a free weekend from my significant other <3
My son get's a certificate as it is his birthday - may not be much but he will be well chuffed

Erm...bearing in mind the current terrorist threat, is it really wise for emergency services personnel/armed forces all to be congregating together in a relatively small space at the same time? Erm...no. People need to start using their brains. WAKE UP!!!!!

Ive never read such an idiotic comment!! Im presuming this was meant as a joke???
Well I'm really looking forward to this don't think it will be that busy tbh small Qs kids can't wait, and if we were worried about a terrorist threat no one would ever leave there home bases etc.... Go have fun guys.

Would this apply to prison service staff ?

No

Its always half price for military and I'm sure 180,000 squaddies will not be too excited about going to Alton towers too much.

A theme park is kinda lame when you get paid to play with some of the toys our military have access to like tanks, APCs, helos etc. Not to mention the free travel all over the world.

Went today, the app was great for discount on the overpriced food, but useless for the ride queue times. It wasn't updated and was incorrect all day, showing 15 mins but when you arrive at the entrance of the ride it was more like 45 mins.
Was there yesterday, Queued for 40 mins for the smiler, the rest of the coasters were < 15 mins queue. Some like oblivion were literally just walk on.. It was lush!

No fast passes required, and we did everything with hours of time over.

Plus with this app which i only downloaded to track the queue times and magically found the discounts saved us £8 on burgers and £2 on doughnuts :)

(was my Sun ticket so entry was free to!)

I love theme parks but hate Merlin - £10 to fast track on to Smiler! It's an OK ride but nothing spectacular.

Yea it's a rip off, the biggest gripe I have is the £6.00 to park, daylight robbery. Kids enjoyed CBeebies land though.

The car park charge would only be justifiable if they agreed to fund a new access road (which the local authority wants).

The traffic can be terrible for us locals
Thanks this is genuinely useful
Damn, was there 2 weeks ago. Wish I had known about this. Heat anyway :)
