I know this has been posted before, the price went back up to £49.99 before I had the chance to order. This has been reduced again for those that missed out on the original deal and I am posting cos Screwfix have a tendency to adjust the price up and I dont want you guys to miss out again.

Mods can you please unexpire the original post and delete this one

What did you buy instead out of interest? We have just moved house and are looking for a loft ladder?

I have to agree, first use broke, supposed to be rated at 150kg I'm 100kg max broke easier than a plastic chair :), Although i've not got round to returning them

I missed out on this one by hours last time (was £27.49 when I went to bed then next morning it was back to £47.99) so I went and bought the two-piece similar ladder for just under £30. It works fine and was easy enough to fit and is good value for money - does the job if you just occasionally need to get up into the loft. Wouldn't have wanted to pay too much more though ... and would want something better quality if for some strange reason I was using it every day.

I am looking for a wooden one - if anyone knows of them at a good price I would be grateful

Plus £5.00 for delivery so should state £32.49 but still a good deal.

nasty bruises cause i landed on the ladder in compromising position BEWARE cheap goods:oops:

Yes agreed, dosent seem to be any collect instore option available?
#13
If you want to buy instore you have to physically go to the branch and order it - they have no online facility like Argos do.

Added heat, I've ordered one with an insulated loft hatch for £57.48 and free delivery, will be a project for Christmas. :)

I don't suppose you have any pictures of the broken part? I received one of these ladders on Friday and now I'm wondering which bit I should keep my eye on - doing a swallow dive down the stairs isn't all it's cracked up to be!

I have now returned two sets of the ladders to screw fix.The faulty part on both was the brass locking catch there are two on each pair. On the first pair this came off after using the ladders twice.

Thanks. :)

Well, after seeing that I think I'm going to return the ladder for a refund. It seems to be a combination of poor design and sloppy manufacturing and in my opinion the ladder is not safe to use. You'd think that Screwfix would have come to the same conclusion after so many returns - perhaps they're waiting until someone breaks their neck.

Just returned mine too before it killed me - problem with mine was the springs holding the catches in place would spring out leaving the catches free to disengage at any point. I'm surprised they still sell this!
