"Excellent piece of kit, sturdy, lightweight, folds away neatly into storage bag (supplied). Can't fault this, and at this price best buy of the yr so far. Also the service from wickes was first class, ordered over the phone on Tue, delivered on Wed, hassle free."

That's why it is called a SAFE working height - the number of people injured working from chairs makes this worth every penny, and this is a LOT higher than a chair.
the height of a chair at less than 50cm is quite enough to fall off and bust bones or a lot worse.

Also, a 3m high one wouldn't be much use if you were only wanting it for jobs where the 87cm lift was the right height!

bob - 87cm too short

Might as well buy a folding ladder (got one on special in Lidls for £25) - umpteen positions + long stable platform at 1 metre - more versatile than a platform.

I've had one of these since before Christmas and was looking in Wickes hoping to get another one. Didn't have any in my local store a couple of weeks ago so was pleased to see it's back - especially at a good price. I have been renovating an Edwardian house with ceilings just under 10 feet high and these are perfect a perfect height for repairing cornices and stripping wallpaper etc. Much safer and more comfortable than working off a ladder and tools/materials can be on hand on the platform.
Thanks for the post - heat added.
