We all know how pesky pressing small controls on a touch screen can be, when games don’t support the iPad’s built-in accelerometer and is too elaborate to work with other touch controls. With this JOYSTICK, you’ll have a familiar interface that will do the pressing for you. Installing the add-on is as simple as pressing it down on your device’s screen on top of the game’s controls. You can then move it around or remove it when you wish by simply pulling it out, without causing any damage to your device. Indeed, this patent-pending device will make gaming a lot easier:

Color: Red
- Material: Aluminum alloy
- Adds a real physical joystick to your tablet/cellphone for enhanced gaming precision
- Designed for capacitive touchscreen
- Compatible with touch screen games
- A suction-cup at the bottom for sticking on the screen
- Easy and convenient to use
- Compatible with iPad / iPad 2 / iPhone 3 G / iPhone 4 or other capacitive touchscreen devices

Sounds like a good idea. But, after thinking about it more I'm now convinced it's not. Most games super-impose the controls over the game screen, I know your thumbs also cover that part up to a certain degree but your thumbs move around pending which directional arrow you are pressing etc - but wont this cover more of the screen more of the time?

On a small device where screen real estate is at a premium, I don't think it would be particularly helpful , but I think its more to give you the controllability you would get on a true handheld or console.
