Product Description
This title offers the complete scripts of series one and two of "The Catherine Tate Show", the most exciting new comedy programme on British TV. In the space of two series, "The Catherine Tate Show" - the latest to join the ranks of great British sketch shows - has made its creator a household name and, like "Ali G" and "Little Britain" before it, spawned a new national catchphrase - 'Am I bovvered?'. Scathingly funny and brilliantly observed, characters like Nan Taylor and Lauren the schoolgirl have become instant classics and whetted the nation's appetite for foul-mouthed pensioners and sulky teenagers. Here, in the scripts of the first and second series, meet the motley crew of characters who Tate uncannily morphs into: there's Aga Saga Woman, who has to deal with daily traumas such as telling her children that 'Daddy hasn't been able to find any good brie' on his business trip to France; Paul and Sam, the Essex couple who get Really, Really overexcited about everything; Bernie the Irish nurse who, when she's not taking critically ill patients on wild nights out, is mixing up the medical records of the living and the dead; Derek, the camp elderly gentleman who is outraged at any suggestion that he is gay ('How very dare you'); Moo Shepherd, the pathologically competitive Brummie dog trainer; Elaine Figgis the eternal romantic engaged to a man on Death Row; and many more. Illustrated throughout with photographs of this one-woman comedy powerhouse in her various guises, "The Catherine Tate Show Scripts" also includes additional original material and is the perfect companion to the show - for anyone who's bothered.

From the Inside Flap
The funniest and most original comedy actress to emerge in
recent years, Catherine Tate has become Britain's first lady of humour -
even unleashing a new catchphrase on the nation: "Am I bovvered?" Well we
most certainly are - here, presented for the first time, in the scripts for
Series One and Two, meet the cavalcade of characters who Tate uncannily
morphs into, such as unforgettable Lauren, the stroppy teenager, and
equally spirited Nan Taylor, the scourage of Meals on Wheels.

About the Author
Catherine Tate is a writer and performer who has appeared in comedy series such as 'The Harry Hill Show', 'Big Train' and 'That Peter Kay Thing' before co-writing 'The Catherine Tate Show' with Derren Litten. She lives in London.

If she was remotely funny this would be a hot deal.

Even if you don't find her funny the book is very heavy and would make an ideal door stop. The funniest bit in the book - ironically- is when Nan is in the Pond Shop. ;-)

£1 for all her scripts is a £1 too much.
#5
The same episode photocopied over and over

title says it all.............

there were scripts for that show!!! why are 'comedy' shows with women in never funny, this, ,titty titty bang bang, smack the pony and the like... just painful to watch. a pound is cheap but i'd rather have 100 penny sweets. hell id rather have a kick where it hurts.

ps. fozzza, how is that in any way ironic?
#8
She's absolutely hideous and not the least bit funny!

Ironic cos that's where this book is for sale - the pound shop.

I thought I was the only one who found her coarse, repetitive and annoying. excellent.
Good deal if you like her tho, so voted hot.
but still rather have those hundred penny sweets, although in the currant economic crisis you would probably only get 50 or so to the pound

I thought it was a good deal - apologies to those that don't find her funny. It is certainly a post that brought out the knockers. lol ;-)

A book for a £1 is a good deal but this woman is not funny at all.

At last - someone else who likes Catherine Tate - I was beginning to wonder whether there was some sort of stigma attached to finding her funny. You must have been unlucky with your blotchy book - mine's ok.

Hey Fozza. It is a good deal. Sadly, the knockers are out:oops::p
How can £1 for a book be a bad deal? if you don't want it/like it fair enough but for CT fans it's a cracking bargain.

Her routines rely a lot on the visual aspect. Sheila Carter the perennial farter is not really going to work in print.

I do like her Bad Nan character, though.

Ok, so I was thinking whilst on the toilet - has TV adopted a gender equality approach to comedy these days?! There seems to be loads of comediennes out there at the mo and in my (and other's) optinion none of them are remotley funny!
Katy Brand (especially)
Catherine Tate
Little mIss Jocelyn
Beehive
And more that are so mundane I've forgotten their names... Not wishing to sound like Keith Chegwin but women tend not to be as funny as men... Fair point?!
#22
The woman is a genius...

made a career by not being funny.!

...didnt vote either way cos im biased..

Thanks for some sanity. Well that's exactly what I thought - but if one person benefits from the deal then it's mission accomplished. Otherwise "Am I Bovvered!" :whistling:
